I got this cake recently and it is my new favorite pu’er. It has a well rounded and smooth flavor with a creamy texture. It also holds up well to multiple steepings (I get a good six in my yixing, which is as much tea as I can handle in one sitting!) I would also recommend for people being introduced to ripe pu’er tea. It is a bit more well “behaved” than many other pu’er out there.
I am a tea lover who has been learning much about tea over the past year. I started with greens and lighter oolongs. Now shu pu’er is my tea of choice. Along the way I have encountered white, dark oolong, sheng pu’er and most recently black tea. I love them all but I generally do not care for flavored teas, as I find that they cover up the flavor of the tea. I enjoy reading reviews on steepster and find that they offer much insight on what to expect from a tea!
