I like deep floral leafy teas, I swear. I’ve loved it with green teas and oolongs but when I came to Sheng Pu’erh, the first time I tried it, it was just ew. I couldn’t pick up on any notes besides bitterness and extreme earthy tastes. I did 3 steepings getting just a weaker version than the one before. It’s sitting in a baggy in my cupboard now, and I’m awaiting when it’ll be “aged” enough to be drinkable.

5/24 of the advent calendar and it was awful. Maybe I didn’t steep it long enough (7 minutes!!) but I steeped it in my steeper (lol) and thought it was a joke at first. I was combining nuts and boiling water in the hopes that a tea would be the outcome, also my sample didn’t have any banana pieces so that may have affected the flavour. Something that looked like tea came out of the awkward combining of hot water, raisins and nuts, it was oily on top with a light brown colour. Very sweet with some toasty(?) notes. I could see what they were going for but honestly it tasted like flavoured, sweet hot water. I didn’t expect much from this tea, I’ve never really liked herbal teas or anything banana so not disappointed, just kind of grossed out.

3/24 of my advent calendar. I’ve had orange pekoe before but when I tried this I didn’t feel the need to load it up with milk and sugar, which is super rare. Brilliant tea, naturally sweet a definite classic and a staple in anybodies tea cupboard .

This is like a glorified version of neocitran, not saying it’s not good but expect an extreme lemon taste, hints of ginger and not much else. I can say that this tea did give me a caffeine boost when I needed it (10 page term paper at 2am? no problem) so using it instead of energy drinks could be healthier.

I can’t taste the liquorice! I tried! Everybody can taste the liquorice except me? I can taste the peppermint and chamomile, and that’s it. I get this really weird aftertaste where it almost feels like my throat is closing in, but not… super weird, but delicious tea and definitely a go to if I’m sick or need to sleep.. and sick.

This is literally an almond green tea. We get an almost overpowering almond smell and taste with the lingering notes of a hearty green tea. I love it. This tea is perfect for when I want a green tea with a twist of something else, it’s delicious and simple.

2/24 of my tea advent calendar. I enjoyed this so much, it was a relief because I didn’t like Sleigh Ride at all and I was hoping I wouldn’t be disappointed again today. Mango makes itself known, I like the taste of actual white tea in the background. Not a complete herbal blend. I had this hot and iced and they were delicious both ways. Considered getting 50g of this by the end of the sample. So good 10/10
