I’m so thrilled to FINALLY have some tea from Joy’s Teaspoon! A week ago, a mangled package arrived on my doorstep. It had been opened and I ended up having to pitch the tea as even some containers had been opened. (You never know!) So, the tease came through smelling these wonderful samples going to waste. I’ve been pining for the Sunny Passion as it has the most amazing tropical scent. I literally found myself thinking about it during down times… driving home from work, in bed at night…

So, today I finally have it and am really drinking it! (175/3 min) It’s delicious! The smell, even once brewed is still there. Like papaya and mango. Tropical. The taste is not overly fruity, but is a good balance of a fresh tasting green tea with fruit. It’s pleasant and refreshing and almost juice-like. I feel lighter, just as this tea tastes.

Your package was opened?? Beyond that, your TEAS were opened??? That’s crazy! I don’t take tea tampering lightly, I think I’d be in a fury. : )

I have been thinking about this too, was it UPS, or Post Office?
Either should have better control than that…

It was the post office. I was really upset, but when I went to file a complaint, they apologized, but didn’t seem shocked at all. I get the impression that this stuff goes on more than we know about. Yes, one of the tins was opened and emptied, so I had to dispose of them all. When I emailed Naomi at Joy’s Teaspoon, she immediately sent me out a new package. (Thanks, Naomi!). The second package arrived unharmed.

I can imagine that this sort of thing does go on – Presumably that’s why they’re so pushy about insurance “in case something happens.” So if they decide to destroy any package that catches their eye we can afford to have it replaced…

Here’s hoping that the post people leave our stinking tea alone!

I am still lost though, they (the Postal workers) did this…they thought it was drugs or bombs or something???

QuiltGuppy

No, it wasn’t officially opened. I’ve had things opened for Customs before, but not like this. The exterior box was shredded apart and the tea containing box was slit open. It was deliberate. And it wasn’t covered by insurance, so it was just a complaint.

That restores my faith a little…but for goodness sakes…we had a rash of stolen packages delivered by UPS on porches around Christmas…it is a cruel world.

Bio

I’m a middle school teacher of French, Spanish, ESL and reading intervention. I’m also a mom to two young children.

I’ve always been a tea lover. When I lived in France during college, I really loved the tisanes. Over the past couple of years, I’ve branched off into loose teas. I’m not very knowledgeable about teas, but I’m really loving the learning process!
