1 Tasting Note

This is a bright tea that isn’t too sharp, sweet but not cloying. The Savoy website unfortunately has terrible whimsical but vague descriptions of their teas, and it’s definitely not only getting the fruit flavor from bergamot but they offer no hint to what it is. I thought it might be mango or a stone fruit — some kind of summery-tasting fruit — but another reviewer suggests this is a relabel of the Harney & Sons “Paris” tea, which that retailer describes as containing blackcurrant flavor. Now that I get my nose into the mug with that notion already in my head, I agree. I added a teaspoon of Demerara sugar and a splash of 2% milk, so I may be missing the caramel flavor. I do think it has an underlying creaminess to it. It’s lighter and friendlier than an Earl Grey, and softer and smoother than a lot of fruit-flavored black teas.
