drank Hot Tropic by DAVIDsTEA

I love the first of each month, it’s always filled with surprises and discoveries :)
This month was particularly special at Davids tea because they came out with such a wonderful herbal tea blend that SCREAMS summer vacations!

My first smell : HEAVEN SWEETNESS! The coconut wins hands down for me then the apples – mixed with cinnamon – and mangoes. The vanilla is marrying all the scents together. Overall, it’s a pretty tea to look at with full pieces of star anise.

While steeping, the fruits are starting to take over the smell battle. The mangoes are impressively strong so are the apples and cinnamon. I steeped my tea for 5 minutes and did not bother adding any sweetener considering it already smelt so sweet! The tea has a beautiful yellow color.

The end product is to me is almost like a summery fruit pastry. You get a strong taste of apple and cinnamon, refreshing taste of coconut and the sweetness of the mangoes. Everything works together! I was a bit scared the star anise would be overpowering but it turned out just wonderful. I’m very satisfied with this tea and will most likely get more for the warmer days to drink on ice :)

Flavors: Apple, Cinnamon, Coconut, Mango

drank Sangria by DAVIDsTEA
5 tasting notes

I personally am CRAZY about the actual alcoholic beverage. It’s my favorite summer drink so I was very excited when David’s Tea came out with a blend of herbs that would taste like sangria!
I was relatively disappointed by this tea to be perfectly honest with everyone. I wouldn’t say this is a great morning to at all if that is when you are in the mood to drink your tea. The tea smells very acidic. I strong smell that resemble wine. You can pick up the smell of hibiscus, oranges, apple and strawberries in one whiff.

I am not a big hibiscus fan, it usually become too acidic for me so I only steeped my tea for 4 mins and added some agave. The tea turned into this gorgeous red color. Probably the prettiest tea I have seen from them so far.

The finished beverage tasted better than the dry leaves led me to believe iot would turn out. It was still acidic but it does smell like a legit sangria but it didn’t keep me hooked on it. I later tried it iced and it was better but still not something I could picture myself repurchasing. I will have to try out their recipe for the little cocktail drink, see if I can use up all that tea.

drank Just Peachy by DAVIDsTEA
5 tasting notes

Let me start off by sating I lived in Georgia for 2 years and peaches were part of my everyday diet. It’s one of my favorite fruit and I’m so sad that its such a difficult fruit to get here in Canada.

So for the dry leaves themselves, you can definitely smell the sweet peaches out of the jar but the blackberry leaves tend to cover up the biggest part of its sweetness.

I Steeped my tea for 6 mins and I added some honey because my throat felt a little sore that morning.. The smell of the tea is exactly what you’d expect out of a peach juice! And the beverage turned a pretty orange.
As for its taste: It’s almost like a juice! Peachy madness – I can’t say I notice much of the apple because the peaches are so present, powerful and sweet. Adding sweetener really amplified all that too. As an iced tea, it tasted even better! It definitely is the perfect summery drink! Ill be grabbing more of this before it disappears off their wall!

Flavors: Apple, Peach

drank Mango Fruit Punch by DAVIDsTEA
5 tasting notes

I expected a lot from this tea.
The dry leaves smell like dried fruits, and by that I mean the actual snack! You get huge pieces of mangoes and pineapple. You can definitely smell the 2 and the orange peels, so zesty! Out of the jar, you can’t really smell the strawberries or the marigold.
I steeped my tea for 5minutes and 30 seconds but did not sweeten it. The tea turned into a beautiful yellow beverage. The smell isn’t as strong as when it was dry.
The drink itself could have been a bit sweeter in my opinion, I expected a lot more. The mangoes weren’t as tasty as I wanted them to be.. almost fake (?). I felt like I could of used more leaves, steeped it longer and use lots of agave. Overall, I was pretty disappointed with the hot drink. I later tried it cold and felt it was better iced with a good amount of sweetener.

drank Watermelon Mint by DAVIDsTEA
5 tasting notes

I am obsessed with any tea that contains mint and this one was no exception.

The dry leaves themselves smell lovely. The mint opens up your nostrils. To me it’s definitely the strongest component of the tea as it’s dry form. The rest of the smells is kind of all over the place besides the melon.

I steeped my tea 5 mins with a dab of agave. The smells of apple and melon finally start coming out towards the end of the process.. The tea has a beautiful pinky amber color.
As for the final result. The mint still comes on top: it’s really refreshing! You get this sweet taste of watermelon lingering in your mouth and you can taste a bit of the apple. I can’t say that I taste any of the carrot, although you can clearly see them with the leaves. Overall a very lovely tea. PERFECT for summer.

I made it iced too, added a bit more of the agave and it turned out so refreshing by the pool. My family loved it.
