13 Tasting Notes
A delightfully smooth and rich herbal tea experience! I have gotten at least 2 to 3 steeps out of this tea. The licorice, peppermint and dandelion tastes really come through. I’m such a novice tea drinker, so I don’t know how to describe the complex combination of flavors, but all of the herbs work together, balanced in delicious harmony. It’s fantastic iced or warm. I’ll be buying more of this soon.
Preparation
Blech! One of the worst teas I’ve ever had. It’s too bad, because it smelled so irresistably good out of the package. After steeping it made me wonder what happened. The tea is quite flavorless and has an unpleasant chemical aftertaste. I won’t be buying any more of this. In fact, I’m contemplating throwing away the rest of the box.
Upon opening, the emanating peppermint aroma from the cube was intoxicating. However, when I brewed the tea for a few minutes, the drink itself was lackluster. The box ingredient label says ‘natural mint flavor’ but there is not much to be had. The green tea flavor itself is satisfactory, but the mint ‘leaves’ (insert rimshot here) alot to be desired. There is also an odd chemical aftertaste that I cannot quite put my finger on. I would turn somewhere else for higher quality mint green tea but for the price point ($4.50 for me at my local store) it’s a cheap deal for 100 organic individually-wrapped tea bags.
I’ve been drinking the black version of this tea for years. It’s cheap for 100 organic black tea bags, and the individual packaging is quite convenient. This is a strong and bitter tea that does the trick when I need a pick-me-up in the morning. Highly recommended!
I bought this in loose-leaf pyramid bags. It has an appealing jasmine aroma and noticeable jasmine taste. Both the green tea flavor and jasmine flavors are evident, but neither over powers the other. This is a wonderfully light and smooth tea for any time of the day! I’ll be buying more of this.
Preparation
This has a very striking pomegranate taste and has the type of flavor of many herbals I’ve had. It is pleasantly tart and sweet with a slight bitter aftertaste. I particularly enjoyed the fruity aroma and deep red color. I will definitely be buying more of it from Trader Joe’s!
I got this on sale at Sprouts, so I figured I would try it. At first sip, I thought I was drinking seaweed. Surprisingly good seaweed. This is the only toasted rice tea I have had, but I like it. It has a simple nutty (and seaweed-y?) flavor that is enjoyable. Though I wouldn’t buy more of it if I was given the opportunity.
