4 Tasting Notes

I didn’t get enough steeps. I used an 8 oz gaiwan (first mistake). I only had 4.5 g left from my 5 teas for $5 order. I did 6 sec for initial steep then additional 6 sec each infusion. It went bland around the 4th infusion. It probably would have lasted longer if I used my 70ml gaiwan. Live and learn. The wet leaves weren’t as aromatic as the liquor. It smelled like brown sugar. It had cream finish.

I bought 1oz tin for $12.98. There were actually 5 sample pouches in the tin. It has a smooth floral taste. The wet leaves smells amazing. You can get more than 5 steeps. I used 1 pouch with a 70ml gaiwan. I started with a 20 sec steep then added 5 sec each additional steep.

It’s been a while but I had to voice my disdain for this tisane. It smells amazing but does not taste anything close to the smell. I made the mistake of buying the prepackaged tin. I tried to see if mixing it with their coffee cake tea would help but no improvement. It’s sad since for the most part I like or find most of their teas/tisanes tolerable. However we can’t hit a homerun every time. Hopefully it will never return to their shelves.

Thank goodness that the first time I had this tea it was prepared by an expert. I don’t do it justice. However, I am getting better. I was able to get 3 cups out of a skimpy teaspoon. It smells amazing and tastes just the same. The name fits the experience perfectly. Bare with me, I’m new to the wonderful world of tea. I definitely recommend you try it!

Could you maybe please give more details on brewing? Amount, approx temp, steeping time?

Unfortunately, the package does not make it easy for a novice as it does not have any brewing information. I used a teaspoon. The approx temp is 180 degrees. The steep time is 3 to 4 minutes. I’ve also cold brewed a teaspoon in a 20 oz bottle and that tasted great as well. I hope you come back and share your experience.
