Straightforward, good quality chrysanthemum flowers. Makes a nice tisane by itself and mixes well, too. Be careful, though. Steeping too long takes the flavor from pleasant to medicinal.
The spice flavors don’t come through very well leaving a fairly flat black tea with just a hint that there’s something else going on, but not enough to enjoy.
The flavors just didn’t mesh very well. Somehow the sweetness of the caramel tasted more like aspartame with none of the characteristic caramel complexity.
Powerfully smoky and strongly bitter. Drinking this straight was no fun at all. Adding milk and sweetener helped, but it only improved “can’t drink” to “don’t want to drink.”
