305 Tasting Notes
I took Marcus Stouts advice about quick rinsing the leaves. WOW, what a difference in this mornings cup. Smooth, OMG wonderful, I remember why I love this tea so much kind of diffence.
I just love his weekly emails offering tips about tea:)
Preparation
Nice peach flavor. I am not getting the ginger kick that I would like.
I have varied the water temp in an attempt to find the ginger, but alas I fear that Ginger has left the teabag.
Overall a nice peach flavored tea in the convenience of a tea bag. No astringency which is my number one criteria for a tea.
Preparation
Mrawlins2 shared this tea with me:)
The weather today is chilly, seemed like a perfect time to try out this tea!
Added a few rock crystals in the brew basket, waited…..added milk and the smell is to die for, chocolate wafts to my nose as I take my first sip: sweet notes intermingle with the chocolate. Smooth tea taste:) First impression, I am so glad this on the permanent collection! and I really must get off the computer because I have to drink this tea while it is hot…later!
Preparation
Loooong day at school. This has been the looooongest week in history, while last week was the shortest wk known to mankind(spring break vs back to work).
I am really tired and the tea that seemed right was the Earl. Love the smoothness of this one. The citrus notes are just right and the tea base is in balance:) Astringency is low to null. Taste is high to perfect.
This is definitely a must order tea for me!
Preparation
Drank this after supper. Wanted dessert, but decided tea was a better option. I have been wanting ice cream here lately, so I choose this tea. OMG, it is so wonderfully good. How can tea taste just like ice cream….I scream, we all scream for Neopolitan Honeybush!
added asplash of milk which really bought out the creaminess:)
Preparation
My daughter brought this sample to me saying “I think you will like this EG”
I have tried it this morning and have decided that this must be what Picard was drinking on Enterprise. This is smooth, not perfumey(I am so glad, I hate drinking perfumed teas and I can’t imagine Picard liked perfume either:), the citrus notes are light and flavorful. This is like a cross between a mild EG and Blood orange Black: the base contains Ceylon(I am a huge fan of Ceylons) and the citrus notes are present(not as strong in this tea as the Blood Orange) but I do like it. My search may just be over for an EG. I have found a few others that I liked, but they were out of my price range due to shipping to the US.
I think if you really liked a traditional EG, you may not like this too much. But for me, it is the perfect ratio of everything. Now I can say “EG hot” and get a tea that is very much drinkable!
Thank you Mrawlins2 for the sample:)
Preparation
I love how you said “this must be what Picard was drinking on Enterprise.” !!!!!! I believe that, too!!!
OMG, breakfast never tasted so good:)
one pg tip pyramid & a few rock crystals to 12 ounces of water in my Chatsford teapot.
2 minute infusion time. added a wee splash of milk in my tea cup and viola~tea perfection in a cup. Smooth, not bitter. PG tips are hard to describe…I am reminded of their commercial:
The man and monkey are sitting in a restaurant. Having just poured fresh cups for both of them, the man askes the monkey, “how would you describe the taste of PG Tips?”
The monkey takes a sip, swirls it around in his “sock mouth” and exclaims loudly “Splendid….yes, yes, YES,YES” he carries on for a few seconds more. The lady at the booth next to theirs tells the waiter “I’ll have what he is having.”
Priceless….every time I drink this tea, that commercial comes to mind…it makes me happy! No other tea in my cupboard has the ability to make me laugh out loud with pure joy. You gotta love the monkey:)
Here is the link to the video I was trying to describe…but did not do it justice. Watch & Enjoy:)
