From Yiwu Mountain Tea

*pictured – partially used sample cake

This is a blend of huangpian from our Yiwu gushus.

The aroma has a clear Yiwu honey/floral sweetness and the soup is thick and sweet with a full mouthfeel. Pretty much no bitterness or astringincy in the leaves. The cha qi comes quickly and is refreshing, but calming at the same time.

Huangpian can be aged like any other Puer and will develop deeper notes

Note: We recommend longer steeps and more leaf than normal. If you don’t have gongfu style brewing equipment, huangpian is ideal for pot brewing.

Gongfu!

Afternoon tea session during a meeting earlier this week. Sometimes I feel bad drinking really nice teas over meetings because I never take good notes on the tea because, understandably, I’m taking notes for work. However, it just feels and tastes so good in the moment. Plus there are only so many hours in the day to brew Gongfu…

But my God, this is such a soft and smooth sheng! Gentle and building body with sweet flower nectar and delicate peachy nectarine and citrus notes. Love how round it tastes, and the hint of bitter greens in the finish followed by more sweetness in the back of the throat! Mmmm!

Can you not just feel how cozy this session was!?
