I had my first genmai cha yesterday at an Asian cafe. Immediately, I fell in LOVE!! Purchased this today at the Asian grocery and it comes pretty close. I was hoping for a loose leaf tea, but this was the only offering they had. I love the toasted sesame sort of flavor that the rice gives. It’s nice and clean. It’s a tea I could drink every day.

Like drinking Rice Krispies, almost :)

Den’s tea’s Genaicha Extra green is amazing. They do a “green tea for novices” pack for $3 that has a sample of it too. http://www.denstea.com/bnew-to-dens-teab-c-377.html

This is always such a comforting cup of tea. It’s not got quite the punch of other Genmai Chas, but it’s still a nice option when the urge strikes.
