From white2tea

Also referred to as Zhengshan Xiaozhong and Lapsang Souchong, this is a classic black tea from Wuyi in Fujian province. While some modern versions of this tea are smoked, the traditional version is processed with no smoke. It has naturally occurring flavors of yams and pine, with a rich body.

Finished off the packet this morning. It makes a much more interesting and boozy gongfu session than the campfire-smokey western brew. Big difference!

Gongfu Sipdown (1333)!

I’m kind of sad to see this tea go, but it was the kind of day where all I wanted was the delicious comfort of a Lapsang tea session. My preference is almost always for smoked Lapsang, but this is such a beautiful golden and malty tea with rich notes of raisin, brandied fruits, and cherry wood that you simply cannot go wrong with it.

Also, I’m really proud of myself for killing it with the gong fu sipdowns this week!

Side note – I just went back and read my old tasting note for the 2019 production of this tea and was really thrilled to see that I basically had the same tasting notes. Hooray for consistency!
