From white2tea

Anhua heicha fu zhuan, or fu brick, is a post fermented tea from Hunan province in China that contains “golden flowers” (eurotium cristatum).

A white2tea experiment a couple of years in the making, our Shufu Shufu blend contains our small batch shou Puer from Yunnan joined together with Anhua heicha last spring in Hunan. Two provinces and styles of tea melded together to age in a giant brick with golden flowers.

The shou Puer smooths the edges of a young and aggressive heicha. Aromas and flavors that drift between intense tobacco and buttery sweetness. A unique experience and a tea that will really shine as it ages.

Each brick is ~1000g of pressed tea.

Disclaimer: We’ve heard that people suffering from gluten allergies may be sensitive to Fu zhuan / eurotium cristatum. Best to avoid this tea if you are sensitive or have Celiac disease

Sipdown & Backlog

It was raining on Saturday, so I was in the mood for something warming—such as a shou, or something similar—and this was sitting on the sipdown pile. It wasn’t as heavy as a shou would’ve been, but it was good for a not-too-hot, not-too-cold day. I noted “nutty, very little warming affects to the body, & good for a warmer day; prefer shou on a cooler, rainy day” I didn’t note a rating, but Saturday seems ages ago, now, so I don’t remember my overall thoughts.
