From Trader Nicks Tea Company

Luscious blend of creamy rooibos, rich pumpkin and sweet blueberries. Caffeine free, so no need to worry about that midnight spell

Tasting Notes: Pumpkin | Blueberry

Even though the clock strikes twelve, the spell this tea has on you will not be broken! This flavorful herbal concoction is completely caffeine free so it makes a great nighttime drink. Creamy rooibos, pumpkin flavor, and a touch of bibbidi bobbidi blueberry combine to make this herbal tea an enchanted delight.

This flavor creation was originally inspired by the fairy godmother’s nightly brew that she magically conjures with a wave of her wand. She definitely has a fondness for fresh pumpkins right from the patch and uses them in many of her recipes.

Ingredients: rooibos, honeydew melon cubes, apple, flavor, blueberries, nettle leaves, pumpkin, sunflower blossoms, and cornflower petals

Strange VariaTEA TTB #13

Pumpkin and blueberry are two flavors I’ve never seen together in one tea before, but it is a clever Cinderella reference! I was curious enough to overcome my rooibos aversion and give it a try…but ultimately was underwhelmed. I honestly don’t taste any pumpkin in this blend. It’s just a blueberry rooibos; perfectly drinkable, but nothing special.

I never got around to trying this one, but I was curious! Good to know it’s not mindblowing. :)

This tastes a lot like S&V’s blueberry cinnamon crumble. It may be the same blueberry flavoring, but this one doesn’t have the baked good flavors, and it’s also slightly starchy from the pumpkin. I’ve quite enjoyed this so far, though I would buy blueberry crumble instead, especially since it’s half the price.

Blueberry and pumpkin, eh?

This was an automatic addition to my order. I mean, the idea of these two flavours paired together is just so freaking weird in a way that feels targeted to me specifically. However, flavours aside, I think it’s just such a fun and playful interpretation of the movie and characters within it. I mean, blueberry feels right for Cinderella and so does pumpkin. Until I saw this blend I had never thought of Cinderella as the “pumpkin spice princess” but now that’s all I’m gonna think about. It’s just so… so spot on!

The tea is a touch of a let down. I say ‘touch’ because it actually taste great, but I don’t get the pumpkin at all and that feels like a lot of build up of expectations for a hollow delivery. The sweet and jammy quality of the blueberry very nearly makes up for it though. I find blueberry tricky to work with on a rooibos base (unless it’s green) because the rooibos often brings out a tarry and medicinal quality to the fruit butt that’s not happening here. It’s just juicy and fresh feeling, and I like a lot!

(I am very partial to blueberry teas though)
