Gongfu!

Next tea up in the afternoon’s brewing!

I’m not usually a TGY girlie, but the aroma coming off the tea leaves after this initial rinse was heavenly. Like, I want to bathe in that aroma because it just felt in the moment like it could wash away all of life’s problems. Mind you, I was pretty tea drunk at this point. However, it was sweet and floral with notes of lilacs in bloom with a milky violet undertone.

Taste wise? Still delicious, but a bit of a shell of that mind blowing aroma. Mostly because it was less sweet and floral and had a noticeably more nutty taste. I don’t mind a nutty oolong at all, but in the moment it felt like a betrayal after the promise of purple floral bliss that the nose had teased me with.
