Gongfu!

This was a lazy Sunday morning session. I think it’s fitting that the sunlight streaming through the window was so intense that morning as I sipped on this oolong, as it’s tasting notes really channeled the nostalgia of summer break. The sweet and slightly sour smell of freshly morning grass, dandelion greens, and biting into a succulent peach. Smooth and syrupy liquor that almost seems out of place for such a green oolong, but the peach ties it all in together. We’re still a ways out from eating peaches on emerald green grass while the sun beams down on us, but it’s nice to be able to capture that feeling for just a moment!

Sipdown (321)

This is one of two Tearunner samples that I grabbed from Roswell Strange before sending her along her teas. I was interested in trying it but don’t drink straight oolongs enough to justify purchasing a bag for myself. With that said, thank you Roswell Strange for giving me the chance to try this one!

Drinking it now, I am glad I didn’t buy it. It’s not bad but its not to my tastes. The website claims there are peach notes here and while I maybe get that a little, I get more a metallic floral. It’s a classic oolong profile but not the oolong I personally enjoy. Its been fun to try though and now I know for sure that I was fine with the one-cup sample and nothing more.

What a strange name for a tea! Doesn’t exactly make me want to try it!

VariaTEA

It has something to do with the look of the leaf but it is quite the name.

I just had to look up a picture of it. I can imagine it being tiny little crabs.
