From Tea Revv

Warm those frosted fingers with a mug of Eggnog tea. Best brewed as a lattea with hot frothed milk.

Best Brewed: Hot / Lattea
1-2 teaspoons, near boiling water, infuse for 3-4 minutes. Perfect with or without milk and even as a Lattea. Sweeten to taste. Brewing is part of the fun, experiment to find what you like the best.

Followed the bag’s recommendation and added some milk. Had whole milk leftover from cooking and it made it really creamy and eggnoggy. I don’t know how it tastes without milk but this is a definite win for me because I love eggnog :)

#adventageddon Day Twelve – 3/5

This was a bad cup but this time I definitely only have myself to blame for that. It was a chaotic morning at work today and I thought it would be best to to try and sneak in as many of today’s teas into the morning as possible (which wound up only being two). However, I forgot that I’d left this steeping while setting something up, and when I came back the mug had been steeping for easily twenty minutes. It was SO bitter, and I only have myself to blame for that. I have no clue if this would have been enjoyable under normal brewing parameters or underwhelming, and it kind of sucks that I wont have the change to find out…

This has a nice finish to it, sweet and nutmeggy and a little creamy. Because of that nice finish, I like this better than most other Tea Revv teas I’ve tried, but it still doesn’t thrill me. I don’t get any real bitterness but it is astringent. As usual with this brand, I brewed it about double strength and it’s still not too strong.

Tea Revv Advent Calendar – Day 21

(originally written November 21st)

Ughhh so tired after cooking things to take to Thanksgiving dinner tomorrow. It’s my own fault for leaving it all to do today…

Another spice tea. How original! :P At least this one is eggnog-inspired, which is somewhat different. It does have a strong nutmeg flavor, which really is the hallmark of eggnog. There’s some clove as well, which doesn’t make sense. Also, there are no cream or custard notes, which really are a requirement for eggnog flavor. The base is also slightly bitter and astringent, which further reduces the creaminess.

So mostly, it’s a somewhat brisk nutmeg black tea.

If these weren’t all past dated I’d be convinced your system had gone into a holiday spice shock by now…

Sipdown (274)

Yesterday I was trying to study but I did take a study break and made a whole lot of eggnog snickerdoodles. Not the best cookies I ever made tbh but I have over a litre of eggnog and it is going bad Tuesday so I wanted to use it. I can only drink so many eggnog lattes though.

Anyways, what better tea than an eggnog tea to go with my eggnog snickerdoodles. This has a whole lotta nutmeg which is nice. It is also creamy but there is an astringency here that I am not loving. This tea has potential but it falls short for me.
