From Stash Tea

“Stash Tea introduces a unique Powdered Iced Green Tea made from whole green tea leaves. We start with premium Japanese Sencha Green tea leaves and then grind them into a fine powder. We then add natural blueberry flavor for a refreshing, juicy taste. Just add to cold water and stir, no brewing needed. Since the entire tea leaf is consumed, you get more of green tea’s healthy antioxidants. Plus, you can add the powder to cold bottled water for a convenient and good-for-you beverage. Each box contains 12 foil-wrapped packets and makes 12 servings, 16 oz. each. Note: Since this product is made from powdered green tea leaves and is not instant, some green tea may be present in the bottom of the glass. Stir well or shake before serving.”

I mixed my last packet of this into my vanilla Carnation Instant Breakfast and mixed with 8-9 oz 1% milk – wish I’d thought to before! The vanilla and blueberry blend nicely together, and there’s just a hint of green tea in the color and flavor.

Well, it’s not great, it’s not bad, it’s meh. It dissolved fairly well in cold water with a bit of stirring.

Backlog:

I bought a box of this when I was at Chuck’s Produce because the price was right and I do like the “powder straws” that can be poured into the water bottles. They’re (usually) a tasty way to get some tea refreshment without getting all the sugar that’s in the RTD stuff.

This is flavorful, but, I taste more blueberry than green tea and that loses points for me. But, for the price, this is better than RTD iced tea drinks.

GCTTB6

Pulled this out of the GCTTB and it made for the ultimate lazy person tea. Just dropped it in a water bottle and shook for a surprisingly flavorful drink. Think blueberry pie filling, a blueberry flavor but much, much sweeter than the actual fruit. I actually enjoyed it so thank you Arby (I think) for adding it to the box. Surprisingly tasty for a very processed tea. I normally don’t like greens too much, but this tastes like a sweet matcha that isn’t astringent, so I actually like it. This is fairly sweet and fruity with an obvious blueberry flavour. It works well cold if you want a sweet refreshing drink and don’t expect top of the line tea.

This stuff is super underwhelming. I added two packets to my big bottle of water. With some shaking, it mixed pretty well. In the end, it just tasted weak. Blueberry and tea were both there…but even with two packets it wasn’t a strong enough flavor for me. I wouldn’t purchase.
