Black tea lovers take note. “Drunken Red” is made with sun-dried leaves picked in the Autumn harvest and pressed into 100-gram cakes at the famous Feng Qing factory (established in 1939, Yunnan Province). Using the large leaf “Dayah” varietal, the tea is wilted then bruised or abrated breaking open cells and releasing precious flavors; further oxidized then moistened and partially sun-dried further developing its subtle and rich black tea tastes; rested and then fully dried. The resulting taste is smooth, clean and sweet. There is plenty of “cha qi”. These cakes can be aged as this large leaf varietal will slowly change offering subtle new tastes and aroma. This is a great tea for cold brewing
