Drank a big mug of this late last night. Mmmmmmm. The flavors of mint, chocolate and rooibos combine for a very satisfying cup. They were blended nicely and not a single one screamed out or stole the show. Vanilla is listed as one of the ingredients, but I didn’t identify it as a taste. I imagine it contributed to the overall richness. There were also bits of what looked like dried fruit, but I don’t know what kind. They were not a prominent part of the flavor but again, I think they added a certain something to the tisane because it was very rich and satisfying.

This is a great tea to have when you are in the mood for a dessert tea, but don’t want caffeine. Even though it seems like it is Fellini’s Folly with chocolate added, it really isn’t. The proportions of mint are totally different and the extra additions change that invigorating and digestive tisane into a lovely treat.

Side by Side Comparison with Once Upon A Tea by SerenipiTea – thank you to Missy and Dylan for both samples!
This tea is okay but the flavors are just not my favorite it seems a bit on the weak side. There was just something sort of MEH about it.

Cocoa Loco is sweeter and less spicy than Once Upon A Tea
Once Upon A Tea has more complexity and depth.
Both have a creaminess to them but I believe that Cocoa Loco wins on the creaminess factor.
I am not a huge fan of either really to be totally honest.
Where one wins the other skips out and vice versa. I think I will pour them into one big mug and see what happens :)

One of my favorite teas is Buccaneer. This find is awesome, in that it feels like a lighter version of that. Think take out the coconut and Niligiri tea and add peppermint. Since it has no tea in it, I can drink it as late as I like!

The chocolate and vanilla meld together so nicely. I’m pretty sure there are yogurt bits in here too, making this tea creamy in texture and taste. The mint is very mild, only showing up very late in the sip. I’m totally keeping this one around.

The weather has been SO hot here for the past few days.. It’s the kind of weather that makes it nearly impossible to have hot tea…a dry sort of heat that lingers! I’m still not out of hot tea mode and much prefer it to any sort of iced tea. It’s night now and I can drink a cup of tea whilst in front of a fan. I have an early morning tomorrow so a decaf blend it is!

I am usually not a fan of peppermint teas… and when I do drink minty teas they are typically mixed with other things. I thought I’d give this one a try since I like SerendipiTea. They usually do a fine job with dessert teas. Sipping… this one isn’t actually all that bad! It’s got a rather floral peppermint note that is nicely toned down by the creamy vanilla. The first part of a sip actually reminds me of a swimming pool.. I can’t tell you what it is, though. Maybe it’s the scent… something that so clearly reminds me of chlorine. The tail end of the sip is the best part – smooth, minty and soft. Would I repurchase? Perhaps. I still think I owe this blend a few more cups before coming to any solid decision.

nicely balanced blend of rooibos with chocolate and mint. it works, and is a pleasant dessert tea with a tsp of sugar to add body and bring it all together. not an everyday tea for me, but one i thoroughly enjoy when i’m in the mood for it, and one i often recommend to guests. so there you go.

I go back and forth between this tisane and Buccaneer. I think I prefer the mintiness of this one. I’m fairly certain that this has chunks of coconut in it, even though it’s not listed as an ingredient. It’s a soothing blend of chocolate, peppermint, and vanilla. Fortunately, the rooibos does not come through strongly at all. Overall, a very good dessert tea.

How did I never review this? I’m usually so good about that.

I bought some of this from Shab Row Tea Emporium in Frederick, MD. It’s nice. Minty with the feel (if not quite the taste) of chocolate. Sugar doesn’t really add much to this tea, though I do like adding a bit of Herbal Infusions Cacao Tea to up the chocolate taste. It’s nice but not really something I’ll get again.

My mom gave me 4 ounces of this (through my own suggestion) to me for Christmas. It’s hardish to find online, and my parents frequent an awesome coffee shop that sells it, so I thought I’d request she purchase it through the local business. I love this tea. I remember it from when before I drank tea, and from when I didn’t find rooibos disappointing, so I was worried I would like it less now. I do not. This tea is fantastic. It’s light and vanilla and chocolate with the addition of the mint. It’s probably the best rooibos tea I’ve ever had. I’m a huge fan and have been for years.

This is by far one of my favorite teas around. I got it in a subscription box and couldn’t wait to try it. The blend of chocolate, mint and vanilla were cozy and creamy. It was a wonderful dessert tea, but not so sweet that I didn’t want a second cup. This is definitely one I plan to keep around!!
