Yunnan is one of the best known styles of Chinese black tea, perhaps because it has been chosen as the tea gift for foreign dignitaries since the 1950s.
Enjoy Yunnan now- the regional tea varietal is well suited to producing pu-ehr tea and many gardens are converting to pu-ehr production because of increasing global demand. This style of long golden downy buds, producing a delicious carmel-spice flavor, may not be around much longer.

I was looking forward to this given how much I love Yunnans, but I am afraid I screwed up the steeping quite royally.
I decided to steep at a lower temperature (190) than usual given that lately I’ve been having pretty good luck steeping tippy Yunnans that way, but that did not work at all well for this one. Instead of the usual malty sweet flavor, I got a washed out version without any real sweetness to speak of.
Accordingly, I am not going to rate it.
Sigh.
ETA: No. 2 asked to try it and really loved it. So there is that.
