From Remedy Teas

Roasted oolong lightly kissed with the essences of fresh pear and spicy ginger. This sweet and spicy blend starts with Wuyi oolong grown high in the mountains of China then mixed with pear and ginger root for a lightly soft, fruity and toasty warm taste.

Shared a pot of this with Beth at Remedy Teas today. I found that the flavors weren’t very strong and I couldn’t detect the pear at all. The pear oolong at T in Vancouver has a much more pronounced pear flavor which I prefer.

I’m not a huge fan of ginger teas, but figured I’d give it a sip. Very ginger-y. I don’t really taste anything besides that. Still not a fan of ginger teas.

Eh, this tea isn’t bad. Shared a pot with maozed and I really wanted to be wow-ed by it. (Side note: one of the best things I’ve ever canned was a jar of pear-ginger preserves. Amazing.) In the end, as maozed mentioned, the pear was all in the fragrance. What you’re drinking is ginger tea. Don’t get me wrong. I’m the kind of person who will toss a finger of ginger in a pot of water and drink that. I love ginger. However, I was very much wanting a distinct pear-ginger combo.

Great oolong flavor with delicate pear fragrance giving way to ginger with repeated steeps.
