From Pure Matcha

Matcha, which means powdered tea. Has been enjoyed for over 800 years. Our Premium Ceremonial Grade Matcha is stone ground in the ancient way to produce the finest quality Matcha. Unlike regular green tea leaves which are removed after brewing. Matcha is whisked with water and consumed entirely. This ensures that Pure Matcha drinkers consume almost ten times a higher concentration of green tea anti-oxidants, vitamins, minerals, and fibers.

Yum! I do love a chawan of Matcha. There really are very few teas that I find more invigorating … it’s a great way to recharge in the afternoon.

And this one is OUTSTANDING! One of the best I’ve tried. Sweet, buttery smooth! Usually with Matcha I notice a bittersweet kind of flavor to it … but this one has NO bitterness at all, just sweetness. Very nice… Smooth, thick and lovely.

I want to buy this so bad. My next tea purchase.

The only thing keeping me from getting into matcha is the purchase of the additional tools you would need.

LiberTEAS

Really, you don’t need additional tools. They do make it easier to prepare the matcha, but, you can prepare the matcha without them. You can use an ordinary spoon to scoop out the matcha: a Chashaku scoops out an amount of matcha that is about “almond size.” I use a small strainer to sift my matcha (I purchased it at the grocery store in the kitchen utensil section for a dollar or two). I use a chawan (matcha bowl) but you can use a cereal bowl or a wide mouthed cup for that matter. Even a chasen isn’t necessary – you can use small wire whisk to whisk your matcha, or you can even use a spoon to stir it, it might not end up quite as frothy as it would with the bamboo chasen, but it will still taste good.

^ I concur! I use a spoon and a wide mug and I’m good to go!

Added to my wish shopping list. Thanks.

Thank you for this info! I had my first matcha today although it was a cold milk matcha but LOVED it!! Absolutely want to get some. They had some for sale there but was 30.00 bucks for a small tin. I need to do some price shopping.

So after the June Steepster box, I wanted to try another matcha that was not a kitchen grade. To try out a good grade A brand after the steepster box sparked my interest. Looking at the reviews I wanted to try this one first.

I will say this is the first tea that I can actually feel the effect of the caffeine. I can drink a pot of coffee and then go straight to bed and not really think twice about it. This I can actually feel. I made two bowls of this a few days ago and I can feel it instantly. This is a good thing since I’m not a morning person. I feel great after drinking a bowl and want to start my day.
This matcha is buttery and smooth. It does not have a bite to it. I have had the Domatcha ceremonial grade and noticed a difference between the two. It has a nice green color to it and it smells fresh.

Saved the best for last. Of the three Pure Matcha products I sampled, this was the one I saved for the tail end. The wonderfully odd wares took point, but now it was time to sip the flagship. I even bought a chashaku (bamboo spoon) for the occasion. The powder alone looked wonderful – bright, vibrant green. It was even loudly sweet-smelling. Prepping it was easy. It frothed up wonderfully when whisked. To the taste…wow…without exaggeration, this was the best matcha I’ve ever had. Sweet, kelpy, slightly-vegetal excellence. It was like hot, liquid green tea ice-cream.

Delicious smooth creamy refreshing taste. I preferred it over ice with added condiments such as milk and sugar but has a good natural straight taste as well. Something I could see myself drinking for a long time and never really lose interest. Highly recommended.

Dear Matcha: Thank you for being there when I am sad, happy, in love, angry, tired, heart broken and hung over. The smooth taste of your sweet and daring flavour sets my soul on fire.
Matcha, I love your guts. And my guts love you.

I am a big matcha drinker. I bought pure matcha from their website and I haven’t heard much about this brand other than some reviews on twitter and steepster. They seemed to have good reviews so I went for it. What I can tell you is that is 100% Ceremonial Matcha. definitely one of my favorites. It smells like matcha should smell, FRESH!!! The taste is even better. I created a steepster account just to leave this review so I hope it helps. See ya.

A delicious matcha, a beautiful light green colored powder and a dark green liquor. It had a sweet, kelpy flavor with no bitterness whatsoever. My only complaint was that it came in a bag inside the container and it was a mess to get it out of the bag.
