This came to me from Roswell Strange like all the other Floragold blends. Thanks for sharing!

Today when I was trying to randomly pick teas, I kept getting either orange teas or teas with plum. I decided to steep this up and then because I had orange on the brain, I decided to finally try an orange Julius. My brother-in-law is out grabbing that now so I’m trying to squeeze in this quick note.

I liked the plum part of this. It was juicy and ripe and what I think plums taste like. I don’t eat them often so my memory of them probably isn’t accurate. The jasmine part ruins this for me though. It’s not terrible but the jasmine can be drying and I feel it detracts from the tastier plum notes, rather than complimenting them. Also as this cools, there is a sharp note that cuts right through the plum in a metallic sort of way and I’m not a fan.

so we often joke around here that my child is feral. She managed to use her teeth and popped a can of soda when she was like 8 months, she always wants to chew on dog toys and such. So it should come as no surprise that she got ahold of this tea, managed to suck/chew through the package to then stuff the teabag in her mouth. I’m not sure if she was hoping for eternal life or just like the taste but as a result id din’t actually get to try this tea. Which isn’t a huge deal for me as the smell of the jasmine was enough to make me think i wouldn’t like it much. But thanks for entertaining my kid VariaTEA lol

Bahahahaha I’m ok with this being how the teabag was used

You know what’s a little crazy to think about? I wrote my 7500th tasting note six days ago, and now this is tasting note number 7550. Seriously, 50 tasting notes in six days is a pretty crazy amount, right? I knew I wrote a lot of tasting notes but I don’t think I’ve ever really processed the amount in full until right now.

Anyway – this is a jasmine and golden plum green tea. The plum aspect sounded nice to me, but I don’t have a wonderful success rate with jasmine greens so I kept my expectations low for this tea. Rightfully so; it was mighty unimpressive. Very bitter green tea, despite being cautious with my steeping, with a super perfume-y jasmine and really no fruity notes at all.

That is a lot of notes! I can’t usually manage to brew up more than about 4 cups of tea a day (excluding matcha), since I’m often drinking resteeps and also often don’t drink tea until the evening.

I think I have written 50 tasting notes this year lol

And to think, at one point we were tied! And also VERY competitive about it :P

bahahaha but then I stopped drinking tea for a year or two and you got certified as a sommelier
