I was trying to figure out which DavidsTea flavor this reminded me of…is it Deep Blue Spirulina…or Moringa Mermaid? This flavor is just so familiar! It tastes really refreshing, but also not like a particular fruit I can point out. There’s something in there that doesn’t taste real. It’s not overly artificial, but…not something that exists naturally. Like how candy flavors compare with the real fruits. It’s hard to describe, but the flavor is light and delicious. I enjoy drinking it cold and would consider ordering more.

This tea is making me rethink my DavidsTea purchases, and unfortunately not in a good way. So many of their blends that sound amazing iced have overpowering artificial sweetener going on, and it really ruins it for me. I got this one in the summer seasonal box.

The smell is fantastic. I’d wear a perfume with this scent (and I think I have a few that get close). It’s a bold, citrus punch with a hint of sweet.

I brewed this one iced. It was weak and pale, so I revisited with some extra tea & steeping. I still couldn’t do it. It reminded me of taking an iced passionfruit tea from Starbucks, ruining it with sweetener, and then watering it down so you couldn’t taste the fruit anymore.

My partner enjoyed it enough to finish the pitcher, or it would have gone down the drain.

Sipdown! don’t need this one in my cupboard again. It’s not a terrible tea but it’s not great either. Just something about the flavouring that doesn’t work for me even though given the ingredients i feel like it should.

2021 Sipdown 55/365!
(DavidsTea 129)

Another tea from the summer DT sub box. Highly regarded by other subscribers, and brews a beautiful purple due to the use of purple sweet potato. I iced it; it tasted like a citrussy pineapple, which unfortunately came off as a bit grapefruity to my husband, which meant it wasn’t his favourite. Wasn’t mine either, as apparently I want my iced tea to be more on the tart side. This tea wasn’t overly sweet, though, despite the stevia, but I almost feel like a bit of hibiscus might have added the edge I wanted.

Wonderful tea. Got this in my subscription box and it tastes soooo good. Such a pretty pretty color. Smells so fruity and the flavor is similar to tropical drinks like malibu and pina colada’s. Can’t wait to buy more of this and make some diabetic friendly cocktails using it this summer. ie just gonna add some white rum and enjoy.

Iced – Yes
Hot – ?

Hello new tea friend!!

The most recent DT Tasting Club subscription box has started shipping/being received by people now – of the eight teas in it, there is a mix of core and returning teas as well as two new teas that are making their debut in the sub box! This is, obviously, one of them…

I find this tea so pretty on every level. It has a brand new ingredient in it that we haven’t used before – and it is definitely very purple! The contrast of those vibrant violet hues in the dry leaf against all of the fruit pieces is so wild and pretty, but it also causes the tea to steep up a very unique and distinct magenta colour – and it was that stunning tea liquor colour that really inspired the rest of the blend.

And so, we created a blend that basically is meant to taste like a Hawaiian sunset. What does that mean!? Well, the flavour of the tea is pretty fruity and tropical – taking a lot of inspiration from vibrant and juicy orange citrus fruits, papaya and pineapple, kiwi, and even some exotic fruit flavours. To me, it tastes like a tropical fruit punch with a good squeeze of fruit orange juice. Very flavourful – good hot but great iced or cold brewed! It’s like more of a citrusy/tangy Caribbean Crush!

There’s even a link with the purple sweet potato, which provided inspiration on a whole new level since Hawaii produces some pretty stunning purple potatoes. Rest assured, though, the blend does not taste like potato – it just adds a nice thickness to the mouthfeel.

Friendly reminder that I do not numerically rate DAVIDsTEA blends as I’m currently employed there and it would be an obvious conflict of interest. Any blends you see with numerical ratings were rated prior to my employment there. These reviews are a reflection of my personal thoughts and feelings regarding the teas, and not the company’s.
