This is a terrible, terrible tea. I can usually pound through a mediocre or bad tea, but I ended up tossing the half of this mug. Thankfully it was just a sample. The apple is candy like, and the aftertaste is horrific. Bitter and chemical.

DAVIDsTEA Advent Calendar 2021 – Day 3

So this smells really good. But that’s pretty much where the good things end ha ha.

It tastes like a green apple Jolly Rancher, and there’s a weirdly musty and bitter aftertaste. Not sure if that’s the blackberry leaf or the apple pomace? I get a hint of creaminess I suppose, but mostly it’s apple candy.

Nope, can’t finish it. A shame, as I love apple cider… :(

Real apple cider is my favorite part of fall. Unfortunately, it’s easy to get the flavor wrong – and this one was very wrong.

It didn’t have a strong flavor overall while drinking. Both the spices and apple were detectable but weak. The artificial sweetness lingered, and the aftertaste was a manufactured apple candy made with sugar substitutes. I wanted to give it an honest try, but I poured it out before I could get through half the cup.

#tiffanys2021sipdown Tea #23

Fri Jan 22…2nd tea of the day was last of a cute tin and 1 sample pack of this tea in hot water and apple pie oat milk creamer as a latte. Another combination not a fan of but trying to be creative to use what I have around.

Apple cider is a herbal blend featuring apple, sweet blackberry leaves, artificial vanilla, and cream flavorings. Given the ingredients it no surprise that this drink is pretty sweet by nature. The delicate creaminess in the aftertaste is what I find quite surprising. I don’t remember classic warm apple cider ever being creamy, but rather slightly spicy with an overwhelming apple flavor one may expect given the name. However, it is this creamy aftertaste that makes this tea so enjoyable for me. I also think that the creamy notes of vanilla are what make the scent of this tea so delicate and sweet, making it an aroma that draws me in sip after sip.

Very, very strong apple taste. Was not very strong, used 2 scoops and steeped longer than usual to get a strong enough taste.

Okay, so I gave this one a try twice before I reviewed it since I didn’t like it at all the first time. But I am still not liking it. To me it tastes a little artificial and the aftertaste is not very good. It’s drinkable but I’m not really enjoying it… more so just hydration. I do love apple cider so I was surprised I didn’t like this one! I got it in the advent calendar and in two of the gift sets, so I’ve got a lot more to go through sadly :( I’ll try steeping it for a short time next time.

I actually reached for this tea this morning because I saw it was on sale on the DavidsTea website, thought I might be inspired or discouraged from buying another box of tea if I drank it. I do quite like this tea, it is definitely lighter on flavour that actual apple cider but it is pleasantly so. It is crisp and sweet with a touch of tart. You could add cinnamon or spices but it is perfectly pleasant the way it is.

I love love love this. It tastes like apple… duh. Not so much cider which I am okay with. I am currently trying to get a second steep out of this because YUMMM.

I would never buy this tea, but it came in a sampler. Apple cider teas always taste lame to me. The flavor is just weak and strange. Luckily this is a heavy blend, so I only had to get through two cups of this to finish the small tin. Honestly, Celestial Seasonings Cinnamon Apple Spice is much better, though I don’t drink that one either since one time I think it made my face rashy where the tea had dribbled down it, and now I’m afraid of it..
