From DAVIDsTEA

At the first sign of a cold, there’s only one thing to do. Reach for the most soothing tea in your cupboard and sip it till you feel human again. And this super-comforting blend is packed with so many traditional remedies, it might just do the trick. It’s got tangy citrus and lemongrass, calming peppermint and a powerful blast of echinacea and eleuthero root –ginseng’s distant cousin. Most importantly, there’s a much-needed caffeine kick from a healthy dose of green tea. Zing for joy! That cold doesn’t stand a chance

I’ve never reviewed this but I’ve fed it to people in my house when theyou are sick and it seemed to help them. Well it was my turn for the dreaded summer cold, I haven’t had a summer cold in years, last time I was sick was Christmas! Ugh I guess it was time. So I’ve been drinking various teas, unfortunately I’m low on my ginger go-tos so I decided to try this. Mild, soothing, lemon lime flavor with Lemongrass at the forefront and a cooling sensation from the mint. I added honey so it is helping my poor throat but I will probably need more meds for it soon haha. The caffeine isn’t doing much in terms of waking me up but then I have been sleeping most of the day from this beast. Gah. Decent tea for colds, hope it does the job!

Feel better, MissLena.

mrmopar

The crud has been through our house as well. Hope you recover quickly.

Thanks Evol Ving Ness and mrmopar, I’m still feeling poor but hoping with more sleep and a very green smoothie soon I can ward this thing off. Summer colds are terrible, how I’d love to be working outside! :(

This tea had peppermint in it so I was bound to like it and I do! I don’t have a cold but you don’t need one to be able to enjoy this tea. Nice and soothing/refreshing.

Have yet to try this tea with a cold… so this is coming from unplugged sinuses and a clear mind. This is the best DavidsTea I have had in a long time. Lately I’ve been put off from a lot of their teas due to their sickly sweet after tastes and artificial flavors. So I decided to stick to the organic teas. And I’m glad I did.
Cold Zing was delicious. The tea itself, upon visual inspection has a lot (and I mean a lot) of lemon grass in it. It smells strongly of lime and lemon (no surprise?), as well as echinacea, and the taste follows the scent along with strong peppermint.
Love this!

Woke up this morning with a cold.
Drinking this made my sore throat feel much better and seemed to clear my sinuses a bit. I’m digging the citrus and mint flavors as well.

The smell is a little misleading – it smells like a key lime pie! In the blend, the lemongrass really overwhelms any other flavour trying to poke through, though. Maybe I just got a lot of lemongrass in my scoop but I was looking forward to the citrus in this and it didn’t quite deliver – still a good cup though. Any tea with echinacea in it can’t be bad!!

Amateur taster here, but I’ve got a cold from hell and gave this a shot.

I weigh my teas on a scale generally so adjusting up or down is easy in case of a disappointing cup. 3.5g for 12oz hot water worked well

I found it pleasant enough to drink. Green tea with a lot of orange peel is the nose, tastes pretty much the same, with added lemon and lime.

I liked it a lot, soothed my throat and I am not upset with the purchase

To be fair to this tea, I should mention that due to my cold, I believe my taste buds aren’t at their best right now. I steeped myself a mug full of this in the hopes that it might make me feel better. I think that my cold is unstoppable at this point and the virus is just going to have to run its course. It’s still doing a good job of keeping my throat moist, thus keeping it pain-free. Once it gets dry, that’s when it starts to get sore again. I started feeling better yesterday but today I’m worse. Frustrating! I hate being sick! This tea isn’t making my cold any better at this point but as I mentioned, I don’t think much will. All I can taste is lemongrass and peppermint. I get the green base as well and I’m happy to say that it doesn’t turn bitter when it’s oversteeped. It’s pleasant tasting and any fluids that I can take in at this point will be a bonus for my body. Lots of fluids and lots of rest. Looks like my cold is stubborn and wants to stick around for awhile so I’ll be drinking as much of this tea as I can, along with some other similar ones I have. Hopefully this time next week, this cold will be nothing but an unpleasant memory.

Cold Zing tastes pleasant. The flavors are incredibly smooth with the citrus notes being very forward. However, the body seems a true mixture of all the flavors. Lemongrass is prominent, while peppermint sits in the background. Notes of what I assume are echinacea and/or eleuthero root are noticeable in the body, too, though I cannot quite tell, which is which. There is a very slight medicinal, herb flavor to the tea.

Bought this one but then gave it to my Mom, tired some while I was at her house this week. Drank a couple of sips and poured it out, the after taste was just unbearable.

Flavors: Grass, Lemon

I can only drink this one (along with Cold 911) when I’m sick. I find it has a weird taste otherwise – maybe I can only tolerate it when I can’t really taster anything, LOL.

cretia

I started to feel congested and not that great and thought that I could get ahead of whatever was brewing and fill up on vitamin C and Echnesia because Chrsitmas was a couple of days away. I got a nice lemon taste and then like a grass taste (what I imagine grass would taste like, its not like I go around eating that :P) , and it stuck with me for the rest of the day no matter what else I drank! I normally try to give everyting at least two or three tries before I consider it a dud but I dont know about that one. I’ll try the Cold 911 next time.

I live by Cold 911 when I’m sick, so hopefully you get a better experience with that one!

rolex

Wow, awfully harsh. I found it pleasant enough and soothed my throat during this nasty cold. Maybe you got old product?

cretia

It very well could have been older Rolex, I purchased it maybe two weeks prior so it should of been fresh. Someone else mentioned to me that they only drink it when they are really sick and congested, and it blocks some of the flavour

I cannot express my love for this tea. It might have been placebo effect, but for a few days I always have a cup or two of this tea when I was feeling a little sick and that cold just went away in like 72 hours! It was fantastic! Would def recommend this to pretty much anyone and everyone. I love it!
