This was a sample that I got for free from Dammann with my advent calendar. I love sweetened hibiscus tea, and I decided to follow Stephanies proceedure for making tea soda with this sachet. I brewed it triple strength (so, only 3oz of water), then added a good amount of sugar (2.5TBSP), let it cool, then mixed with soda water. YUM! The strawberry-rhubarb of this really came out and it was delicious. I kind of want to keep a hibiscus blend around just for making fruity tea sodas, especially for the summer. Yay tea soda!

how nice of dammann to put their hibiscus tea in a red bag. so i can easily know which teas to — RED ALERTSTOPNOT drink.
not even dammann can make hibiscus less hibiscusy.
just not my thing ya know.

I am the same with hibiscus. I look at ingredients and if there is hibiscus in a blend I learned I probably won’t drink it. Herbals are especially upsetting because they always smell so sweet and fruity and then taste so tart – it’s always a letdown.

I received this as a free sample from Dammann with my advent calendar purchase.

It looked interesting, but after opening the package and smelling the tea = hibiscus. Hibiscus is not a fruit OK, just saying.

The brewed tea tastes strongly of tart hibiscus. But I also get some creamy, sweet strawberry. I also get tart rhubarb. There is a slight apple taste, also sweet. There is a mix of sweet and tart in this tea, but it is much more tart than it is sweet.

This one is ok, but I am not the hugest hibiscus fan, and that is what I would call this tea.

This tea smells incredible dry! Red fruity and juicy. The water turned pink as soon as I put the bag in my cup which makes me weary about my old foe… hibiscus. It is tart, but a bit of sugar makes the hibiscus tolerable for the most part. The fruitiness is good, but there is a lingering taste at the end that I don’t like and can’t put my finger on. Not a fan of herbals.
