Gongfu!
Since I’ve been really resonating strongly with Lincang sheng as of late, I dug out this older sample for an afternoon session! I ended up stacking the steeps three at a time, for a total of three pitchers of tea – nine steeps total. The texture is just so silky and soft, and it works so well with the now extremely settled and smooth notes of sweet rain water that feel almost like a dewy outer layer resting on tender fruits and white spring flowers. Sort of redfruit-like but also with hints of something more like an orchard fruit; white apple or melt in your mouth supple pears. Graceful is the key word of the session though. It’s not weak in taste or body, but restrained in a controlled way – like a ballet dancer!
