From Derk, probably last one. Okay, a little of yellow tea I keeped for better time.
But last “first taste”
I put it into mug, took hot water, spilled it in. Keep it easy Martin, it is 7 pm, horribly tired.

Let´s see, they say “Especially suitable for relaxing in the evening” – which is what I need. Interesting, I never heard it should fight anxiety. It is known for mucus removal, which is in Czech (European) phytotherapy. Well, that is what Kawaii433 actually said :) Wonder how it changes my anxiety. I had maybe two small panic attacks today.

Anyway to the tea.
Light golden colour is there, with strong spring aroma. As a spring I mean the season and I mean flowers. Yeah, lots of flower aroma is there. Maybe honey with nectar. It makes sense actually as it is a flower pieces. I forgot about light dust on bottom, and it is clear.

Taste is quite smooth (even I have oversteeped it) very sweet with small tart aftertaste. It reminds me bit jasmine. But I like it and understand Derk that she wants to keep it in cupboard.

PS: Interesting, it is so famous using here – even my (grand)parents were picking it (not anymore). And I never had it. I can imagine it as everyday tea.

Come on, Martin! Keep it together! ;) Hope you’re feeling better. I had some of this last night myself and steeped it for 30? minutes. It was delicious.

Kawaii433

Aww to panic attacks, Martin. I hope this helps you. I know GABA teas really calm me too. Good you reminded me about the mucus removal! These allergies are killing me. I should get some :D. http://www.lindentea.net/Mucus/

Evol Ving Ness

My mother used to use this tea to cure all things. Good to see that it still works.

Martin Bednář

Thank you guys – I think it was really comforting cuppa. I felt much better afterwards and today was completely different story. No panic attacks at all!

Just a headache which came now in the evening.

Evol Ving Ness

I’ve been having headaches too, but likely as a result of changes in barometric pressure: rapid and drastic weather changes.

Evol Ving Ness

Also, acupuncture is super awesome in clearing mucus. (And one should avoid dairy products as they are mucus-causing as well.)

Kittenna

@Evol – I’ve been plagued with headaches the last week or two as well. Hoping it’s environmental as I’m not prone to them :(

ashmanra

I hate panic attacks! I hope you feel much better and they go away forever! I did not know limeflower was good for that, I only knew it was good for colds. Will definitely acquire some to try for calming.

Mastress Alita

Barometric pressure is one of my worst migraine triggers… worst part is there is nothing you can do about it, weather gunna do what weather does. :-(

Bought a box of this to see how it would compare to Dammann Frères Tilleul (Lime Blossom). As I’m sitting here sipping, I’m thinking if I could only have one herbal tea in my arsenal, it would be linden/limeflower/tilleul. There’s something about it… So relaxing. That sweet-tart nectary linden bouquet is amplified in the mouth with every exhalation through the nose. It just… derk settles

What would your one herbal tea pick be?

This one is excellent and could be a fallback to the Dammann Frères, that is if I can order it online or get a store around here to carry it. I bought the tea in San Francisco and have since moved. While not nearly as intense in aroma as DF, it’s still as floral and sweet in the mouth with a hint of woody astringency and a delayed returning sweetness in the throat. Syrupy mouthfeel. The bouquet reminds me of the only perfume I own, Dolce & Gabbana The One.

Oh looky, Limeflower is available online.

I am content.

Additional notes: The bag contains mostly crushed material while DF’s sachet is full of fluffy pompom blossoms, the bract that surrounds the flower and larger pieces of broken leaf. When I poked the spent Ahmad teabag with my finger, a short syrupy string accompanied my finger as I pulled it away. Sweet stuff. Liquor color of champagne with a light blush.

I was sick when I tried this. I should remove my rating to be fair. BTW, it helped me that night with my chest congestion. It really did decrease mucus production for that one night.

derk

Nah, don’t remove your rating. It is pretty floral which isn’t one of your favorite profiles, right? Glad the tea helped with your congestion!

Kawaii433

I already did. :P I left my review up though. I remember just tasting honey mostly. I have only tried a handful of herbal teas but probably ginger because it helps with my motion sickness.

Kawaii433

Just in case I confuse you again (haha). The ginger answer was to your question: What would your one herbal tea pick be?

derk

heh, no confusion there. I get carsick when I’m the passenger while driving on mountain roads. Never thought to bring a mug-o-ginger with me!

Thank you, Derk :D

Well, you learn something every day… :) I looked up Limeflower, and it’s good for anxiety… And is a natural “anti-depressant, sedative and relaxant” and "have been used for centuries to treat anxiety, sleep disorders and hysteria”. I’m a pretty relaxed type of person anyway, but it was still good to know.

This part was interesting too: “It contains mucilage – a sticky substance that can help to soothe irritated membranes of the throat and it is known to decrease mucus production.” I have a bad cold, it’s in my chest. I’m taking Mucinex maximum every 12 hrs to loosen phlegm. One thing about colds… They can kill you if you have a history of asthma.

The health benefits don’t stop there either. Pretty interesting stuff. Anyway, I really needed this tea yesterday. It was light bodied honey-tasting tea from what I can tell at the time. I began losing my ability to smell and taste at that point.

Hopefully, I’ll be back soon with reviews. For now, I’ll work on sip-downs on so-so tea since I can’t taste anyway and need the fluids… And read all your reviews. :D

Update: Reset rating due to my sense of smell and taste were off.
