I haven’t been writing much lately or drinking much tea. I have a cup most mornings at work, but it’s become more of a habit. Not something I put a lot of thought into. My tea cabinet is overflowing and I miss the ritual of it all so I’m having a latte today, on a Saturday, to really take it in and enjoy it. I’ve been carrying this blend in my bag for a while now, wanting to try it but always going back to the comfort of my favorite black teas instead. I pulled it out today, along with my milk frother, and went through the process of making a cup. Boil the water (just half a cup), cool the water, measure the tea (double the tea), steep the tea, warm the milk, froth the milk, swirl the honey, mind the foam, take a sip. It took longer than my normal cup but has been so relaxing and worth what little extra time it took to make.
A Quarter to Tea has been my very favorite tea company lately. Their teas are so fragrant and flavorful. Never disappointing. I can always count on them to be strong and the flavors distinct. This is no exception. The blueberry shines brighter than all the rest, both in the aroma and the taste. I love the addition of the butterfly pea flowers in their blends as well. My cup was a beautiful greenish blue hue. I’m not sure if there is a flavor there but the color alone makes it fun to drink. This reminds me a lot of their Bedtime Blues blend which I love most of all. Something about being here with a warm mug in my hands really changes my perspective today for the better.
