Tea of the Week for December 9, 2019!

This blend was inspired by the cocktail of the same name. Admittedly, I’ve not tried the cocktail – I’m not much of a drinker . . . of alcohol, anyway. A good Matcha is about the strongest drink I’ll imbibe. But I definitely enjoy a cocktail inspired tea blend now and then!

The recipe for the cranberry blush cocktail that I found was made with champagne, cranberry juice and lemonade – so I used that as the basis for my recipe for this tea blend. i started with a beautiful Long Mei Yunnan green tea and added a bunch of freeze-dried cranberries & some dried lemon wedges. Then I added champagne essence to add a bit of “bubbly” to the blend.

The result is rather lovely. It tastes very festive – Champagne notes & pleasant cranberry flavor brightened with a hint of lemon. Really nice! Like a holiday celebration in your teacup! It’s VEGAN, gluten-free, allergen-free & alcohol-free!

AJRimmer Advent Day 11

It’s been a long time since I’ve tried a new 52teas! In my eagerness to taste it I’m sipping it way too hot. Had to walk away to let it cool. I was having a hard time picking out the flavors, so I added a little sugar which made the fruits stand out more. It doesn’t have the tartness of a cranberry, but it does have a nice berry flavor that the term blush seems fitting for. The tea base is very subtle and buttery, but I can just pick it out. I seem to have finished my cup already! I’d like to try this cold steeped next time!

1021 tasting notes

The base tea is a bit too floral for my tastes generally, but I kind of do like this tea as a whole. I didn’t love it room temperature, but after a few hours in the fridge, the flavors start to pop. The champagne flavoring comes through pretty clearly. It somehow almost gives you that bubbly sensation. I also get a bit of lemon, but not too much cranberry. Next time I make this, I think I’ll let the cranberries stay in the mug to try to bring out more of their flavors. I’m glad I gave this tea some attention instead of just dismissing it as not to my tastes – I think I like it! I cold brewed the second steep, which was quite pleasant as well, though still no cranberry.

1143 tasting notes

This tastes much different than I remember. Much more floral, and lacks the light cranberry tartness. Still an enjoyable cup.


I had this tea yesterday, and it ended up way more floral than the first time I had it as well! I have some cranberries, I wish I’d thrown some in!


Extra cranberries added in sound wonderful. I have some on hand aswell, so I’ll have to try that!
