Tea of the Week for May 27, 2024!

Oh, WOW! This tea is so good!

When I had received the freeze-dried cantaloupe, it was beautiful & so tasty, but I wasn’t sure how I would utilize it – so this tea kind of just came together intuitively. I started with an organic gunpowder – fresh & nutty in flavor. The freshness of the gunpowder inspired me to think of mint – so I added some spearmint & then I added the cantaloupe.

I wasn’t sure what to expect with it, but it turned out so tasty! It’s organic, vegan, gluten-free & allergy-friendly.

organic ingredients: green tea, spearmint, cantaloupe & natural flavors

to brew: shake the pouch well before measuring. Use 3g of tea to 12oz of very hot water (heated to 175°F) & steep for 2 minutes. Strain & allow to cool for a few minutes. Enjoy!

serving suggestion: this tea is fantastic hot or iced (try cold-brewing, you won’t regret it!) It’s also good with sweetener – or without! The sweetening tends to bring the melon notes into focus & the flavor is remarkably smooth. Without sweetener, the mint is sharper. It’s a crisp & revitalizing drink.

This is a perfect tea to have on hand as the weather gets warmer – it makes a very refreshing iced tea! While quite delicious served as a hot beverage, I recommend cold-brewing – it’s so good!

Melon and gunpowder sounds like an odd combination.

Sipping on a glass of this – cold-brewed! As delicious as this tea is served hot, it’s even better as an iced tea! I cold-brewed it overnight, and it tastes so good. It reminds me a bit of a Moroccan mint blend with a twist of cantaloupe!

The mint is forward, but not overwhelming or in a toothpaste-y way. It’s just a crisp, refreshing note of mint with a juicy note of sweet melon. The green tea is smooth & earthy. A really lovely blend, I think this is going to be a perfect beverage during these hot days of summer!
