Tea of the Week for April 1, 2024!
The natural stone fruit & brown sugar notes of this Yunnan grown Assamica base inspired this blend. I thought that this tea would make a delightful apricot blend! I was right – this cuppa is so good!
Sweet apricot notes dance on the palate with every sip & the notes of a sweet brandy with hints of oak weave their way in & out. It’s a beautiful dance of flavors.
Crafted using a single estate Assamica black tea grown in the Yunnan province, chunks of freeze-dried apricot & peach & alcohol-free brandy essence, this tea makes a charming afternoon cup. It tastes great served hot or iced (it makes a stunning cold-brew!)
ingredients: black tea
organic ingredients: apricots, peaches & natural flavors
to brew: use 3g of tea (make sure you get some fruit in your measurement!) to 12oz of nearly boiling water (205°F). Steep for 3 ½ minutes. Strain & allow to cool for at least 10 minutes. Enjoy!
serving suggestion: I love this tea served hot – as I mentioned above, it makes a great cuppa for afternoon tea. However, since hot weather approaches, this does make a really stunning glass of iced tea (try cold-brewing it!) Since we’re still experiencing some cooler weather, I’m more than happy to be sipping on this tea hot! It doesn’t need sweetening, as the black tea has a natural sweetness to it, so if you tend to be one of those who sweeten their tea before they taste it, I recommend not doing that with this tea (or going light with the sweetener) as you may find this one is quite pleasant without sweetener.
A tea I came up with “on the fly” – while working in the tea studio. I wasn’t really sure what I wanted to do with the base – but after tasting it – the flavors of apricot & brandy spoke to me! I couldn’t be happier with the result – this tea is AMAZING!
That sounds marvelous!
