47 Tasting Notes
This just came out in the past few weeks. I used to be a HUGE Teavana fan. Unfortunately, there has been little to be excited about with Teavana lately. One new tea in the past 4-5 months? I was hoping for a new Summer Tea Collection or something like that, not just one measly tea! I’m not sure if it is the new ownership that is neglecting the product development of Teavana, but I used to really look forward to the new releases but now I rarely stop by to see what is new or check the website. After waiting a long time for a new tea, I found this one rather disappointing. It is an okay tea, but a bit expensive. It did not make a major impression on me. They are preparing it in-store as a blend with the Limeade Twist. For me, this was just….meh. I hope for some new and exciting releases in the future, but I am not holding my breath.
I picked up this tea using my Frequent Steeper rewards. I had wanted to try it for many months, but waited for the rewards points to come though, since it is a more expensive tea. I tried it last night and it was pretty good! I had it as a hot latte and enjoyed the jasmine infusion. It is not a new favourite, but it was a solid tea that I look forward to drinking again. For me, the black base and the jasmine flavour worked well together. As it is quite pricey and I do not LOVE it, I think I would only pick it up again with my frequent steeper rewards. It is a very nice tea to have once in a while, but I would not want to have it every day. But I am sure glad I tried it!
Okay, I am upping the rating. I had a feeling that I might do this. I often need a few days to come to an opinion on new things (tea, movies, books, etc.). I found myself craving this tea in the days after the first tasting. Plus, I tested it against the Black Dragon Pearls of Teavana (which was not Jasmine infused, but cocoa infused) and I definitely, hands down preferred the Jasmine Black Pearls from David’s. It is not an overwhelming flavour, more subtle, but I really like it. I think this may become one of my regular teas to pick up with my Frequent Steeper points. If you haven’t tried it yet, give it a try and see what you think. I know this tea will not be for everyone, but I really like it! I am giving the tea a 90, up from the original 84 that I gave it.
This is pretty good. I don’t LOVE it, but it is not bad. It reminds me a lot of the CocoCaramel Sea Salt at Teavana. I had it hot with some sweetener. I picked up 100g and may pick up a bit more in the coming days, as it is only available for a short time. I am glad I had a chance to try it. It does give off a very nice aroma when steeped. Not one of my new favourites, but pretty good. Too me, it seems more like a fall tea though.
I picked up the Electric Lemonade which is the Tea of the Month for July 2015. It is pretty good! I think I like it better than the Pink Lemonade. I am definitely a person who prefers sweet to tart and, as a I recall, the Pink Lemonade was more tart than this. I made a bunch of the Electric Lemonade over the weekend as an iced tea and it is a great tea when there are hot temperatures out there. Very refreshing! It will not be one of my absolute favourites, but it makes a decent iced tea.
OMG!!!! I LOVE it!!! I love chocolate and banana together and this tea delivers! I had it as a hot latte. Teavana tried to do a tea with banana and chocolate but failed miserably, but the David’s Tea version is AMAZING! I am definitely going to be stocking up on this one before it disappears from the shelf. It is a great dessert tea. I am sure it will be great as an iced latte as well. If you enjoy the chocolate-banana combination, I highly recommend this one.
So, I picked up a bit of this earlier this week. It has been out for a while and I figured that I should try it. It is pretty good, but it is not as good as Melon Drop. I have been drinking it iced. It is quite refreshing. I’m glad I tried it, but if you are looking for a good melon tea, I would recommend the Melon Drop instead….but it was just recently discontinued. Sadly.
This is the Tea of the Month for June 2015 at David’s Tea. It makes a really good iced tea. I haven’t tried it hot yet, but the iced version was fabulous. It reminds me of the iced versions of Cool Cactus and Shooting Starfruit. It has a lighter flavour but the scent that the tea gives off is strong and heavenly. The tea got better and better as I sipped it. I am very happy that I picked up a tin of this. I will definitely be picking up some more in the future as well.
Unfortunately, I have a full tin of this at home that I picked up last fall. I went in to replenish my Just Peachy to discover that it had been discontinued and there was no stock remaining….to my horror! In my shock and despair, I picked up some of this and it was a bad decision. I found out that I am not a fan of almonds in steeped tea. I love to eat almonds, but I don’t like the flavour it gives off in steeped tea. I will not be picking up more of this and I’m not sure what I will do with the rest of the stock I still have.
Not a fan. I guess this may be a tea that you either love or hate, based on a vast number of the reviews here that either give it a 90-100 score or a below 50. There doesn’t seem to be much in the middle. I am thinking it is the almonds that make this tea undrinkable for me. I just don’t like the flavour that the almonds give off in steeped tea. I feel the same way about Forever Nuts. Definitely not my cup of tea.
