247 Tasting Notes
After a lackluster birthday weekend, I came down with a terrible cold… this morning I dragged myself to work and had a few cups of Tea Guys’ Ginger Peach (which while good, I don’t feel comfortable taking notes on just yet given my inability to smell and taste properly.)
I left early and quick made some of this guy when I got home and let it steep for a good, long time to really pack in the ginger punch. It’s strong (at least strong enough to cut through my ailments) and I’m very very glad I held onto this guy, it’s more of a fall staple for me and though it doesn’t really speak “ginger beer” to me (it’s missing some depth of flavor,) I still enjoy it.

I bought this on whim a few days ago after finding out that Williams Sonoma imports F&M tea(!!!!!!!) I don’t love green tea, but I learned earlier with Fortnum & Mason not to judge a tea before you try it. This is a wonderful tea for late summer/early autumn as the weather starts winding down. It doesn’t have the heavy earthy flavor I normally get (and don’t enjoy) with greens but it is still crisp and palette cleansing. The ginger is mellow but still enjoyable, not at all like some of my other favorite ginger teas.

Some backlog today, I got this awhile back (maybe a year or two honestly) and I never really enjoyed it. But with two ounces of it, and it’s age, I decided I may as well start drinking it down. And honestly, it grew on me. It’s got a really lovely fruity flavor to it, not too sweet but just sweet enough. Great during the summer once it’s cooled a bit after steeping.
Flavors: Apricot, Fruity
This is my absolute favorite tea lately, I feel like it gives me a dark, coffee-like, heaviness to it without the flavor of coffee. I love the density and it really helps jolt me awake in the morning (but I suppose thats puerh for you, huh?)
Today was a sipdown for this one though, so I’m definitely picking up more of this when my free tea reward comes out in October. Until then I’m on a tea buying hiatus…
I’m trying to drink down my stash because it’s gotten very much so out of hand. Eventually I’ll have to re-evaluate what I’ve actually got still…
I made this iced (running low on herbals to ice and it’s too hot for traditional tea) and it’s lovely. I’ve started making iced tea by the pitcher since it’s just so much easier that way, but it also ends up using more tea leaves, for better or for worse. I’m just glad to be finally making a decent dent in the stash!
Sipdown on this one today… I picked this up on a whim about a month ago and I’ve been slowly drinking it down. I love the lemon and ginger and since it’s yaupon it doesn’t give me headaches (yay!) I went into David’s last week and they said they no longer sell this one loose D: if that’s true, I’ll have to try some of their other lemon teas because I really really enjoyed this one and I’m sad to see it go!
