1015 Tasting Notes
Am I having this tea for breakfast with a delicious peanut butter cookie? Maybe :)
I’ll probably have an everything bagel later on – but no worries because this tea is amazing with just about anything. I love the sweet smokiness. It is definitely filling my craving this chilly, windy morning.
Mmmm! This is amazing as always. I have LOTS of little specks in my infuser tonight. If you get some of this tea, the specks are where its at! Yum~ really helping my stress levels right now.
The first time I saw the specks, I thought it was dregs and braced myself for a bitter final swallow. Nay, nay! Those are vanilla bean specks, and now we all jockey to be the one who gets the last cup from the pot!
Wow, after reading these reviews I was terrified to try this, but as I’m having trouble being the least bit tired tonight I decided to give it a go. It really reminds me of CS Original Sleepytime but without the slight mint. With a bit of sweetener it isn’t that bad and if it helps me get to sleep sooner rather than later I’ll probably throw this or the mint version in the cart next time I order from Harney.
I have no idea how long this steeped for – the online timer I use had an error so it didn’t start and I didn’t realize it for awhile. However, the Queen is just that awesome! I don’t think you can ruin this tea – delightfully strong, slightly smokey with a hint of caramel/fruit today. Maybe she will give me the energy I need to finish reorganizing my classroom (I decided to completely rearrange yesterday, which has become a much bigger project than I anticipated…)
I love how the Queen gets me up and going, not accepting any excuses. I have lots of school stuff to do today (not due soon, but I’m trying to get ahead so I’ll have less to worry about during the crazy holiday season with 6 year olds). I just may have put a drop or two of this amazing Red Velvet Cupcake creamer which is going quite well with the smokey cocoa of the Queen. Love it!
This is SO good! You really need to get some of this tea. It is rocking my socks tonight. Just what I needed after 10 parent conferences in a row (and that’s after 3 no shows and 3 families that couldn’t make it today – so I still have more conferences next week :/ ) This is making everything better though.
Oooh, this is good. Really, really good. It smells and tastes just like my beloved Emperor’s Red (which I couldn’t find online anymore) and this is a much better price. It is slightly smoked, unsweet cocoa with a hint of fruitiness. So good I am lost for words.
Preparation
I’m not getting much pumpkin, but the ginger and cheesecake are definitely there. It is a nice, slightly spicy, and warming tea that is much appreciated after a long, stressful day at work. Maybe I’ll actually get some sleep tonight also since it is honeybush. I’m usually horrible about drinking black tea late at night.
Crazily, I added a pinch of 52teas’ Butterbeer to the leaves for my third and probably final steep of this pu-erh tonight. As soon as I added the pinch to the infuser I started kicking myself – Rose Congou would have been a much more reasonable choice. Luckily, the addition turned out pretty good and didn’t result in an undrinkable cup of tea. Its definitely growing on me!
