173 Tasting Notes
I know a lot of people here despise teavana, partly due to pushy sales tactics. However I have to say that the majority of the associates at the teavana I frequent are really friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely helpful.
That’s how I came to love this tea. One of my favorite associates suggested this for me since it’s summer and I’ve been on a fruity iced tea kick and hadn’t tried it yet. Love it! I did get a nice even green tea taste from this instead of overwhelmingly artificial fruitiness I was expecting.
So I’ve always just liked this one “okay.” However I had never tried it iced before. New favorite iced tea!!!! I brew the leaves once, transfer tea to a pitcher, then re-steep the leaves and add that tea to the pitcher, add a teeny bit of sugar, chill overnight and hey-oh! I am one happy camper.
And holy hiatus. It has been a while since I’ve posted here! But med school does that I guess lol, my world has revolved around anatomy and not much else for some time now. Trying to find some balance….Oh my goodness. How could I have forgotten how good this tea has always been to me? I’m been swept up in the excitement of trying so many new ones that this has been hiding in the back of my tea box. When I need a tea to switch my cranky allergy infested mood though, the TARDIS tea is here for me. This is one tea that I enjoy with honey so I’m sure I’ll be drinking it more often. I’m having an awful bout with seasonal allergies right now.
Allergies are winning :’(
I’m resorting to having a bit of local honey with my teas in the slim hope of getting a leg up. My ears hurt, my throat hurts, my eyes hurt, basically, my whole head is consumed in the nightmare that is spring. Everyone thinks I’m crazy when I say this is my least favorite season, but this is why.
I agree completely. Spring is awful. With the winter being so terrible, this spring is worse than normal, too. Everything is coming at once. I was in the backyard yesterday while dinner was grilling, and I had to come back in after 15 minutes. I was dying. My throat is scratchy and sore now, too.
Alaway eye drops. I highly recommend them. Without, I couldn’t put in my contacts. My eyes aren’t even itchy. Best Eye Drops Ever!!!
I’ve been drinking this one a lot lately because I feel like it helps my sore throat a bit. My allergies have come into full swing now that it looks like Spring is finally here in Michigan. Which also means I am a miserable wreck. I made up a pitcher of this to put in the fridge, just to see if it would be any good cold to take on the go. I’m just having my first cup of this and it’s much better than I expected it to be. To be honest I thought it wouldn’t be all that good, so the fact that it is palatable makes me happy.
Any suggestions on a nice vanilla-mint tea? That’s the one thing having this tea, as well as the vanilla orchid oolong (David’s,) is making crave: a vanilla-mint tea. mmmm
So I made the last of my sample this morning and just as I took my first sip I remembered that I had wanted to try this iced! I reluctantly put my mug in the fridge and made something else to go with breakfast. While it would have been a wonderful tea to start the day with I am happy I had the restraint to wait. It’s a lovely iced tea. Nice to have something different iced, because normally I do really fruity herbal teas for my cold tea. Also, my throat has been killing me today so it was great to have a soothing, vanilla iced tea.
Yummy yummy. Toasted coconut with a hint of raspberry. Helping me through some Korra feels tonight. I decided to watch the whole first season today on my day off, having never watched it before. I loved the Avatar: The Last Airbender series, and I have to say I was not disappointed with Legend of Korra. I may or may not have cried into my mug of tea at some point or another. The score for the series really got to me and I really felt this aching nostalgia for the old series. I love when a show/book/movie can get you invested like that. But still, oh my aching heart. Some of those moments had me reaching for the kleenex.
Anywho, on a happier note I GOT MY CAR!!! WOOT! Brought it home on Friday. It’s a red Fiat that we’ve named Francesca. Why? She’s got European class, but she’s also a bit eccentric so we nick-named her Frankie ;P
I’m ridiculously excited. Not only is it my first car, but I also feel like I’ve passed a great milestone. It’s the first big purchase for my husband and I since we got married in February!
I’ve been doing a lot of iced tea lately, and I had actually made a pot of this last night to be hot. Buuuuut then I realized how super tired I was and looked at the clock and thought “wow, I should really be getting to bed.” So I ended up just sticking my little ceramic pot in the fridge and had this tea today! While it was a good iced tea, I think I prefer this one hot actually. Still yummy though.
Great as an iced tea! I brewed this up double strength, and then actually decided to do a second steep. I combined both steeps in a glass pitcher and let cool in the fridge. It’s very refreshing, and I love the balance between the berry and the mint. Sadly this was a sipdown, so I am all out of this…. for now.
