13 Tasting Notes
Ugh!! Soo not my cup of tea!!! It smelled like fishand tasted like fish and i dont like to eat fish much less drink it. It was my first purea and to be honwyt im scared to try another one i dont know why i tasted and smelled fish their were no other flavors just fish and tea taste. I do enjoy coffee alot tho
I havent tryed this one yet but I was doing some reading online and heard that this tea is potentionaly dangerous because of the kombutcha? I dont know if it was mostly reffering to home made or even the bought kind they said it can cause allergic reaction or infection from bacteria..has anyone heard or experianced this??? I just wanna know if its safe? :) thank you
I think they mean generally-speaking home-made because of how it’s made.

I believe this is just a flavoring-combo in this DavidsTEA (but I could be wrong)
Hope that helps a little.
I got this as a sample from one of my friends who told me this was not her favorite tea….but as usual I love it! lol strawberry and chocolate but very sweet like and I have to tell you I am not a fan of chocolate covered strawberrys lol and I loved this tea. dry it smelled like chocolate and steeped the same and I couldnt pick out any other taste except strawbery and chocolate….if I can get any more boring than that descripton Id be shocked…but there you have it haha…sweet and simple. loved it <3
well start my day with a big cup of disapointment! I had high hopes for this tea :( the smell was well horific to me(my mom didnt think it smelled bad) I thought well if I can get past this smell I can get thru anything today lol, but I drank it…Thank God it didnt taste like it smelled! It did give me energy and guys I am not over exaggerating when I say Id put up with almost any taste or smell if it gave me crazy energy. so I will drink what I have left of my 50 gram bag and move on with the rest of my life lol I wont be stocking up on this one again :(
so, I ordered this tea, and I honestly had high hopes, and so I opend it smelled it and it kinda smelled like liquar with cinnamin?? the taste was like apple cider and so I added splenda! and then the taste was like a mcdonalds apple pie. the taste was okay, I tolerated it, but then somthing so strange happend! I got soooooo tired!! I dont know if i was just tired anyway but wow! I was tired so then I drank some mate main squeeze and poped back awake. I am kinda wondering if I am just diffrent because this tea got such high ratings and I just orderd jumpy monkey mate tea and that got not so good reveiws so I am really hoping I like it despite the reveiws about the awful smell and taste….hmmm we shall see…..did anyone else get tired from this tea??
I loved the smell of this tea dry and steeped, I thought it smelled fruity! if anyone hasnt noticed I am not good at picking out smells of certain spices or herbs but I hope my nose gets better the longer I drink tea, this was the last sample of my recent davids tea order! and it was good, but I wonder if it was the reason I got a belly ache??? I hope not but this was my first roobios tea! it was good tho, my bf said it tasted like stale punch, but I think he was tired lol.
okay, yuuum!!! I absolutly adore this tea! I like the taste! but I LOVE the energy boost! this is my first mate tea, this was one of my samples from davids tea! and I am so glad they threw this in!and I am going to have to buy this! and I just orderd jumpy monkey and super excited to get it! yay for this tea! its kinda like drinking warm orange juice and that sounds gross but its actually really awesome! but I imagine I would love this cold too, but I may drink way too much cold lol…. p.s I cant change my rating on my teas for some reason! lol
This is probably not going to be a fair rateing since I dont like cookie dough in the first place and so I debated on wether to even write anything about it, but I did want to remember my thoughts so here it goes. I got this as one of my samples and I decided I would try it. I think it tasted like a cookie but I couldnt get the thought of raw eggs out of my head! LOL and even so I thought it was kinda bland and my bf loves cookie dough and didnt comment weather it was great or horrible. so I think if you like cookies and like cookie dough then give it a try! God bless!
the taste is so so, I tolerate it. I bought it for more energy and to maybe raise my metabolisim a bit, and for my diet (aka lifestyle change) but I am not sure how well its working altho I did look up every indivual ingrediant to see what each does, very useful info I wrote everything down so if anyone is interested in what I found let me know and Ill put it in the comments :)
This is one that I ordered with my first order and mostly because I like the name and thought hmm thats what I need! (big sucker for cute marketing!) any hoo! the taste well I wish it was a fruity but it was kinda minty and vix vapor rub kinda taste lol (no I have never ate vix vapor rub) its very tollerable tho. I should have not drank it so early! I didnt wanna do anything! lol def going to be a once in awile tea!
I can’t get over the fishiness that Pu’erh has, either. I notice it the most in my Ginger Pu’erh and I don’t know any tips to reduce it.
Do a quick rinse of 20-30 seconds in boiling water, dump that water, and then steep it again as usual. It should get rid of that taste!
What momo said. :) Also, if you steep it in a gaiwan, using short steeps of 45 seconds for the first infusion, and so on, the flavors won’t become so intense.
how does one do a rinse? :D never done one before!
A gaiwan makes the rinse very easy. Just pour the hot water over the leaves, count to 10 or 15 and then strain off the liquid. Then brew as usual.
Well thank you ill try that i never had purea but my friend loved this tea she said i was crazy and didnt sence any fish about it! Ol but thanks so much everyone!
10-15 second rinsing? thats a bit overkill. I haven’t had many flavored pu-erh but I rinse pu-erh for 1-3 seconds, toss water, then first steep is ~30 seconds. second is 15 seconds, third is 30 seconds, and increase 15 seconds for all subsequent steeps. Some pu-erh I increase to 30 second incrementing. I also use ~1.5 tsp in a gaiwan which holds 3 oz of water.
