my first dragonwell. didnt think i liked green teas a whole lot, but this might have converted me. 2 steeps, 2 mins on first one, 3 on the second. i definitely got the grassy, nutty, butteriness, but also some honey oats. i could see myself throwing this into the rotation a couple times a week. glad i got another dragonwell from a different spot too to compare.
there is a definite meatiness to the smell of the wet leaves that i cant quite put my finger on.
my second gong fu, and my first puerh if you dont include the fish fest from a few weeks ago. i have seen alot of reviews where the puerh is described as “earthy”, but i wasnt prepared for this. this was next level earthy. it tasted like you walked into an old abandoned house, went down the stairs into the dank, musty cellar, and drank it. the cellar, not the puerh. after a few steeps the flavour reminded me of an old second hand bookstore. during the last infusions the earthiness came in the form of having a beet like taste. i enjoyed this quite a bit, and cant wait to go further down the puerh road.

an orangey earl grey. this one reminds me of the russian earl grey from steeped tea that ive had before that is also very good, but this one edges it out. all these tea samples seem to have a fair bit of astringency. pretty sure im committing myself to a long evening of tea drinking tonight.
my favourite tea of the kusmi russian blends sampler so far although ive got troika to go. red currant, cherry, a bit of caramel. funny i was just thinking about the twinings four red fruit tea bags i had years ago, and it has the same currant and cherry flavours in it i remember from that one.
this review is going to also be my review for the celestial seasonings regular sleepytime tea because im drinking this toe to toe with each other. 2 cups vanilla, then 2 cups regular. both of these teas are just so comforting. probably the vanilla a little more so, also smoother with the vanilla, but i am enjoying the directness of the regular over the vanilla right now. pretty sure i will have to give these both the same rating as it will come down to which i am in the mood for at the time.
