630 Tasting Notes
I am not the biggest fan of this one, but not because the tea is poorly flavored. I just don’t care much for coconut in tea, or banana flavoring. But this is very desserty, and thankfully is drinkable. I appreciated the real coconut flakes, it made the coconut more real tasting and less like weird butter, which I often taste in other coconut teas.
Preparation
Fruity and fresh, the berry in this is strongest. I do not taste mint at all, though for all I know it enhances the other flavors. I would enjoy it more with stronger mint. I do also get a tropical edge…but primarily red berry, particularly in the aftertaste.
Preparation
I was surprised to end up loving this – when it was breweing, it wasn’t particularly fragrant. But as I take a sip I am really impressed. It does taste very ricey, of course, and the marshmallow flavor is strong. I always add a tablespoon of honey to my pitchers of iced tea, just to give a hint of extra sweetness per cup. It works really well with this blend. I never would have thought I would love icing a flavor like this, but it is one I would reach for over many of my fruity blends.
Preparation
I think this is best when enjoyed hot. Iced, I found it kind of bland. I could taste the strawberry some, and the cake aspect was very very slight. I admit I might be comparing this a bit to the other flavors I have had so far, and they have been rather strong, which I liked, but this one, while pleasant, wasn’t my favorite.
Preparation
So, so, so yummy. I wasn’t sure I would love the popcorn/blueberry flavor combo, but thankfully I was very wrong. I have never been able to taste the blueberry in a blueberry tea quite this intensely, and it is very sweet all on its own. I had it hot and let it cool and both were delicious. It held up really well to resteeping – the blueberry flavor was still strong, which I find rare. It was more balanced in the second steep, making it remind me of blueberry oatmeal. A must for anyone who loves blueberry.
Preparation
A very accurate flavor, with pretty equal parts tea, marshmallow, and pineapple. I don’t know that I love this combo all that much, but anyone who does will enjoy this very much. I enjoy the quality boost of the company revamp – well worth a couple extra dollars per month.
Preparation
As the first tea I’ve tasted from the new 52teas, I am very impressed. It is juicy and actually tastes like cucumber as well as the cantaloupe, which is super hard to do. Also, I got a respectable second steep out of it. I drank the second steep hot, the first iced, and really like it. I am very excited about future creations.
Preparation
I enjoyed this a lot – I am a HUGE honeysuckle lover, both flavor and scent. In fact, I think it is my love of it that made me a little disappointed when the tea didn’t smell like someone shoved some honeysuckle in my face. Unrealistic expectations, I know. But, I wasn’t disappointed by the flavor. It is naturally sweet, the tea doesn’t overwhelm or get drowned out by the floral notes, and it resteeped pretty well for me.
I will say I preferred it when I added a drop of honey to bring out the sweetness more reminiscent of tasting honeysuckle flowers, and I let it cool. But I prefer teas that are memory triggers, and noshing on honeysuckle after swimming in the pool in the summer at our house when we lived in West Chester when I was 8 is a tough one to evoke.
Preparation
I love this. It is more reminiscent of peach with other fruit equally represented, as opposed to straight up peach, perhaps more like peachberry, as it is still very hibiscusy and has a berry quality. But with a bit of honey the peachy juiciness is brought out. I am impressed, and will consider repurchasing.
Preparation
I adore cinnamon, and I was not a fan. Most hot cinnamon spice teas and similar are like red hots, both spicy and sweet. This was not sweet really, and actually was a bit bitter despite being brewed below boiling and only for a normal few minute steep. With so much better out there, while not undrinkable, I can’t really recommend it.
