52 Tasting Notes
Thanks Raul for getting me to try this tea!
I love hazelnut coffee, so it only makes sense to try it in a tea form.
And Adagio rocked it!
The smell when you open the bag is a wonderful hazelnut. I love the black tea for this as it compliments the hazelnut flavor. And then while brewing there is that promise of a delightful hazelnut flavor.
I love this tea first thing in the morning. It hits my senses & wakes me up…just like my coffee would.
Overall, this is a tea I always keep on hand. I have the biggest bag available so that I’m never without. And I must brag again that I am in a one day delivery zone for Adagio…well, that is until they open a store here in NY…HINT HINT to the people at Adagio!!!
Okay, so Adagio had offered this holiday sampler pack of tea bags & Chestnut was one of the flavors in the pack. I love it!
First off, I love the smell as it’s brewing. And the taste lives up to the smell.
It’s simple & delightful & warm & it screams a taste of the fall season for me.
I’m just sorry I didn’t buy more before it went away….oh well…hopefully it will be back this year. I’ll be sure to stock up.
I’m stunned reading all these reviews of this tea since I came on here to rave about it. Oh well…here goes…
I got a teabag sample of this with my The Republic of Tea catalog. I was all excited since I love their Red Velvet Chocolate tea. I’ve been wanting to try other flavors of theirs.
I made this tea this morning & it was wonderful!
First off, the water turned this pretty plummy/purple/reddish color. It actually made me laugh. No joke. The person next to me in the cafe this morning here at work must have thought I was insane…okay, I get that look all the time…
Then the smell hit me. It smelled simple & fruity. Sweet & wonderful. And then the taste…the first sip was mild, the second sip was delicious.
It’s a very simple green. You will get more of the fruit flavor & less of the green tea flavor, which bothers me, but at the same time, I still liked it.
I didn’t get to make a second cup as I accidentally threw out the first cup. Oh well. If I want more, I’m going to have to buy it. And I just might.
This isn’t my favorite green tea with pomegrante, but it’s not bad.
I want to rave about this tea, but sadly, I cannot.
First off, the smell when you open the box really will bring to mind sugar cookies. And during brewing you will start craving sugar cookies.
After the first sip, I wasn’t sure what to think. And after the finishing the first cup I still wasn’t sure what to think.
I ended up making a second & I used a pinch of brown sugar to sweeten it. Nope. Didn’t do it for me. I get the smell of sugar cookies, but not much in the taste of the tea. It’s just plain to me. Nothing special.
I see you are also in NYC. Perhaps we can arrange a trade. My gingerbread spice for your sugar cookie. :) if we do it in person, we can save the postage. Let me know if you are interested.
I didn’t care for this tea. It smells good when you open the tin & during brewing. But for some reason the taste didn’t live up to the smell.
I got a big taste of black pepper & I don’t care for pepper.
Definitely not a winner for me.
I’m starting a new tea blog today & thought I would set up the mood by making some scones & brewing a pot of tea I hadn’t tried yet. Good thing I can make another pot later…
Okay, I love Adagio. I love their customer service & most of the teas I have tried. Till now…
This would be a great review if this was just a plain black tea, but sadly, it’s not. It’s supposed to have a blackberry flavor & there just isn’t enough of that flavor. Oddly enough the smell is there when you open the bag & inhale. If I hadn’t smelled it, I would never have known I was drinking blackberry tea.
I even tried adding more sugar, but it wasn’t enough to really make the blackberry flavor reach my senses.
I’m disappointed. Adagio never lets me down. I’m surprised by this one.
I received this tea as part of a Christmas present from a friend who knows how much I love tea. I love Red Velvet & had high hopes for this tea. Luckily, it did not disappoint me!
Everyone saying it tastes like red velvet cake batter is right…it does. And the vanilla flavor leaves a hint of cream cheese frosting. I enjoyed this from the first sip.
Definitely adding this as a favorite to always have on hand. I enjoyed it thoroughly. Really delightful cuppa tea.
Nina, I loved it. It was mellow & sweet & wonderfully flavorful. If you want one to taste, let me know. I can always drop one in the mail for you.
I love this tea! It’s a great tasting black tea meant for any time drinking. I brewed it rather strong & it was fine. I even left it sitting on the teawarmer with the teabags still in the pot & it didn’t get bitter. It only got better.
Definitely a great tea to keep on hand for when you are in a hurry & don’t feel like measuring out tea leaves or cleaning up a mess.
Tried this flavor just because of the name. I’ll admit it. I thought it was funny. Come on, how many of you read this name & didn’t start thinking of the song? Bet you’re thinking of it or even singing it now, right? ;)
So I had found the link to California Tea House thanks to various reviews of their teas here in Steepster. I ended up deciding to treat myself to a little sampling of their teas & this one of the flavors I picked. Again, based mostly on the name…
I love limes. I love the smell, the taste, the acidity & I love lime flavored things…jello, cookies, pie…it’s all good! So I bought this tea looking for lime flavor & I got it!
First off, the smell when you open the bag is amazing. You can smell the lime & the coconut. And of course, you can smell the green tea. It’s all amazing together. Then there is that wonderful smell during brewing. Still strong. Still delightful to the senses.
For the first cup, I always leave it unsweetened. I like trying tea in it’s bare form. I can always add sugar or whatever later on. I ended up adding a drop of agave for the fun of it. Just a little dark amber & a little drop & it seemed to awaken more of the lime for me.
I am definitely going back to the California Tea House site for more of this tea. It’s going to the top ten list of must have for me. And I’m going to try this iced as I can only imagine it getting better! I bet on a hot summer day this is going to refresh me.
Definitely glad I bought it. Thanks to all that bragged about California Tea House! Great stuff!
nicely put ;)
Thought you’d like that!
