278 Tasting Notes
Yum yum yum yum yum yum yum yum. Wooooooo. So much nice woo.
This is great. I love it with a longer steep. It ’s smooth and a little sweet. I want more, immediately.
It steeps for a very long time. I started this AM, took a break, came back for more. Nice and relaxy. Perfect for when people are working your nerves!
I adore this tea. I was gonna write something poetic and gorgeous, but if you take everything that TheTeaFairy said and add everything that MzPriss said, and then multiplied it times Pi, because it’s Pi Day, then you would have my feelings on this tea.
Oh, and it’s fruity. Like very juicy fruits. I super dig it!
Love mob, coming through! <3
Preparation
This is niiiiiiice. It smells earthy and has an earthy taste, but in a nice way. I’m unwinding from a rough week of work, and this is really doing nice things to my coconut. Thumbs up!
Also, Camellia Sinensis was really generous with this order. They gave me several nice-sized samples to try, and the order got to PA from Canada extra fast. I’m always happy with their tea and service.
Preparation
First tea from my new O5 order. Pedro sent so many amazing teas. Eeeeeee! So excited.
So this one is lovely. Smells like apricots and other fruits. There’s a smidge of bitterness once in awhile, and ooooomg… nice Qi. I’m feeling a little woo. And maybe a little woo. Of happiness. Wheeeeeeeeeeee!
Preparation
Holy. Moly.
I pulled out a sample of 1980’s heicha that I got as a special surprise in my last order from O5 Tea. Somehow I missed this one when I was trying the other samples they sent a few months back. They don’t sell this online and it may not be for sale at all, but maaaaannn… it’s super.
The wet leaves smell like candy, almost a little violetish, but with some warmer caramely notes also. Really intriguing.
The dry leaf looks a bit like the fungus teas I love so much, but I did not see any golden flowers. The brewed tea smells like something I know, but can’t quite place. And the taste… really unique. I’m having a really hard time describing the flavors, so I’ll just go with: yum, noms, eeeeee! and happy of happiness. I wish I could get more of this one!
Preparation
Mmmmmm, all the tea companies want to seduce you with their “private” reserve, that’s how charming you are ;-)
This is really quite nice, and the price is amazing. This is part of my sample sipping Saturday. Yum!
Preparation
Dry leaf smells like raisins and maple candy
Wet leaf smells a bit smoky, which I did not expect. There’s also an interesting apricoty scent if I stuff my nose in the gaiwan for a big huff.
I’ve been interested in this one for awhile, and it didn’t disappoint. It feels very soft when sipped. Kind of hard to describe. It’s definitely better on short steeps, IMO.
Next time, I will try it with some maple syrup in there because it seems like it would fit.
If you want to make your house smell amazing, as well as drink great tea, just leave the bag of dried leaves and shrooms open. My whole nook smells like candy. CANDY NOOK!
Preparation
This was a little sample from Madametj. Thanks, dearest!
I’m enjoying this one quite a bit. No funkiness, but it does taste a bit earthy, which is nice. This is a great winter sipper. It’s snowing and I’m chillin’ in the nook. Word up.
Preparation
i tend to like a little diff profile. Dont forget I love 1990 HK and you dont ;) i like it sweeter, more dried fruits. i dont notice funk the way you do ;)
This tea is just sublime. I have been waiting for it to be back in stock for weeks and I finally mailed Verdant yesterday and was able to place my order. Thanks, Verdant!
One brick will be on it’s way soon. I plan to pet it gently and tell it how lovely it is. This tea is a thing of beauty, and Master Han is a genius. I plan to provide a very good home and to give it the attention that it truly deserves.
Since I don’t have to hoard the small sample I had any longer, I drank some last night! And since I only could do a few steeps before bed, this is my gorgeous breakfast tea also! I may write this tea a love song!
So I was having tea in the nook with the teaplets today, and we got to talking about the Mirk and I decided I wanted to drink some. I ran downstairs to the main tea area, but I COULD NOT FIND IT. I started to have a total cow, running around screaming, “Emergency, Emergency! Level 5 mirk alert! The mirk is MIA!!!”
I searched everywhere for the little brown mirk bag. I worked myself into a tizzy and then realized that the mirk was in a large WP bag, not a mini bag. So I found it, made the tea, and am now happily sipping. Tragedy averted!!!
Oh mirk, how I love thee. Warm and soupy on a freezing cold PA day. <3
Preparation
CODE RED! WOOP WOOP WOOP! Need volunteers. Search and rescue mission for the Mirk. Some of you might not make it back. Be brave.

And now I am like you, adding songs to tea :p
