SonTHIS is what Sheng is SUPPOSED to be like. Ive had some shoeing and was about to give up hope of ever finding none that wasn’t like drinking kerosene. All I have ever had has been a funky concoction of nasty…until right NOW! Thes Sheng, that I got in my monthly Puer club from YS, is nice and creamy. Very full mouth feel. Sweetness on the back of my tongue with a sugar taste that I cant quite place. The funk that his SO prevalent in every other sheng is there, but so far in the background that it is hardly noticeable. NO bitterness that I can taste! If this one is THIS good now, Id love to try it in 10 years! THIS one is one that I will order a cake of for SURE!

Got this one in a split with Liqyud Proust. Im SO glad I did. This one may have just vaulted to the top of my list of Shu! Sweet, raisin or plum, with no fishy smell or taste. Cake batter comes to mind when Im sipping this tea! So sweet with a lingering fruitinessQ I will be offering a cake of this stuff as soon as this half cake I have is gone. Will be my new go to.

Gong fu style…

Through two-steps, thus is a very nice tea! Creamy…sweet…no hunt of fermentation. I sell caramel and malt and sweet from the liquor. Wet leaves almost smell smoky, but not drop of smoky taste in this. Very bury smooth! This tea will be one that I will buy again!

My cousin sadly, was hooked on crack cocaine at one time n his life and he told me it was a high like no other. He said that first hit was why ALL addicts chase from the first time thy try it. I think I just found my crack!

I got my hands on a sample of 2007 White2Tea Repave and was hooked from the first sip of this glorious golden liquid! Campfire, slightly smoky, leather, tobacco…it reminded me SO MUCH of evenings with my grandfather when I was a boy.

So, I liked Shu Pu…but I am in LOVE with this Sheng! THIS is what Im gonna use to set my bar. I am now on the hunt to find one better, but until I do, Ill be ordering a cake from W2T REAL soon!

My very first cake. Got this on a recommendation and sat down to try it. Put on some sounds of the Orient to get y mind right and broke a good chunk off of this cake. Put it in my Gaiwan after preheating it and let it sit for a while and soak up some of the steam in there. When I opened the lid and smelled it, I for some vegetal along with some vanilla and some dark chocolate. Did a rinse and steeped it according to the instructions on the Whispering Pines website.I was blown away. Brown sugar and honey was present as was a camphor that hung around on my lips. This thing never quit, either. Did maybe 12 steeping before it finally lost some of ts flavor and became a little watered down. This will be one that I will keep stocked in my cupboard!

OK, I deleted my last review on this tea because of my own tasting mistake. This tasting came out perfect for me. This isn’t a chai that slaps you in the face with spices. The spices are there but they are more subtle than most chai’s I have had. The first thing that hits you is the floral aroma of this tea. Fruity, almost. I get hints of malt, bread, cocoa, and even some vanilla coming through, but again, it is subtle. Very smooth and creamy mouthfeel gives way to a finish of evergreen…almost a minty flavor. Very light in color and mouthfeel. Almost an orange yellow. This isnt your grandfathers chai, thats for sure!

Flavors: Cocoa, Floral, Fruity, Honey, Melon, Vanilla

When I said 10 oz of water, I did do that, but I steeped it for 5-10 seconds FOUR times with 2.5oz f water each. Gravity steeped it into one cup! Now, I have had Puehr…BAD puehr that tasted like wet hay and was pretty terrible. I almost didn’t want to try any more of the stuff. Then I got to reading a thread here on Steepster about it being sweet, and nutty, and silky, and it made me WANT to like it! Then, I started asking about it and lo and hold, a sample pkg from Whispering Pines showed up today and I was surprised to see this tea in it. I couldn’t boil my water fast enough. The smell of the dry leaves were NOT what I had smelled in the other Puehr’s (the bad ones)…This one was earthy, and nutty and just invited me to sit and have a cup. So I did.

Sweet, creamy, silky with hints of roasted nuts and coconut. My Lord, this stuff is good. Imsipping on it as I type this and the flavors change as the tea cools…more sweet and more coconut with less roasted nuts.

My first REAL Puehr and Im HOOKED!

Flavors: Coconut, Roasted Nuts, Vegetal
