139 Tasting Notes
Thanks to curlygc for this one! This was my first tea of 2016! It is definitely one of the best oolongs that I have had. It’s florally like a TGY, but without the cacao notes, which is something that I like a lot more about this tea. It is also fruity—pineapple and coconut. 2015 (especially from Black Friday till now) was a year where I acquired lots of tea. I have a long way to go in my knowledge of tea and in developing my taste buds. Here’s to 2016 (raises cup of tea)!
Flavors: Floral, Fruity
i thought this tea was good. Thanks for the trade, curlygc!!! I acquired lots of oolong in the trade and TGY was one of them.
It tastes like cocoa butter and lilac. Yesterday, I loved it. This morning when I had my fifth steep (still strong) I didn’t like it as much, but I don’t blame the tea.
Overall, it’s a solid tea that is still strong on the 5th steep, so I look forward to the bit that I have left and how many steeps I can get.
I was really impressed with this tea. I was not sure how it would taste, having Icelandic moss, Gingko, and Rhodiola. I figured cinnamon and cloves would be at the forefront of flavors, and they were but definitely not overwhelmingly so. I used boiling water and get about 3-4 cups per 2 tsps of tea. The earlier steeps have a nice taste. I can’t pick out the flavors because I’ve never had some of the ingredients before, but the cinnamon, cloves, and rose petals are the strongest. The later steeps, I’d say the cinnamon, cloves, and rose petals are really the only flavors present. The first time that I had this, I had one of my best meditation sessions ever! I wouldn’t say the energy boost is like coffee. It’s like how tea is— a focused energy. And it is very relaxing at the same time. Also, the flavor stays in your mouth for a long time afterwords. It’s like a delicious candle is in your mouth. The aroma fills the room, and I like drinking water in the same cup afterwords because of the lovely smell. I will buy this again when I run out.
Flavors: Cinnamon, Cloves, Rose

I have only had two samples of pu erh teas before buying this cake, and my tastebuds aren’t as experienced as many in here , but I have to review my teas. I had a sample in shop and enjoyed it. It gets 10-15 steeps. The earlier ones have a pleasant bitterness and the later ones are a bit sweeter. Overall, I like it. Excited to try more pu erh teas! Oh, and the paper covering is awesome looking on these 2015 pu erhs by mandala.
