We arrived back from Ireland on Sunday evening and what was awaiting us but an awesome tea parcel from Martin! I didn’t look this one up before steeping and never considered it would be mint aha. I am not normally a mint tea fan, but this one was very mellowed out by the other ingredients and quite enjoyable overall. Thanks Martin!

There are so many teas here, I can’t wait to get into more. :)

drank Grøn Ananas by Tante-T

Ahh I’ve been trying to make this note for a month? At least? I’m just going to scribble down what I have because I keep making this cup over and over with the intention of noting some things down and then being too busy/distracted to do so and now I’m frustrated with the whole thing! This is just a reflection of my life in general at the moment. I’m now nearly done the 100g and it feels like a Groundhog Day loop.

The dry leaf smells like the best juicy pineapple at the height of summer. Dreamy. The pineapple comes through super clearly in the tea, albeit somewhat less juicy than the scent. This tea is really great and I wouldn’t hesitate to pick up another package when we’re in CPH again.

This tea is quite lovely and I’ve now made it through the entire 100g I picked up in CPH in September. I find myself reaching for this one as an easy choice when I don’t have the time/energy to focus on much. I’m not sure I’ve ever really found the pineapple here per se, but the walnut and hazelnut come through clearly. There is a lovely creaminess as well, along with a sweetness that isn’t cloying — whether from the pineapple or the ‘sugared’ hazelnuts, I’m not quite sure. Regardless, a lovely cuppa overall.

I’ve been enjoying this one for breakfast/first cup of the day as the weather cools. It’s crisp, clean, and a great ‘breakfast’ type tea.

drank Coconut Cream by Tante-T

I’ve been drinking this one at a rapid pace and have nearly polished off the 100g I picked up. It’s only in retrospect (and after leaving Copenhagen) that I realised I should have picked up another 100g.

Onto the tea! I think this tea is exactly what it says it is. Fresh, delightful, creamy coconut and a smooth unassuming black tea base. It’s really comforting and I actually enjoy the coconut without any other tropical flavours (that often find their way into teas with coconut).

Personal news: I have received my grades and passed my thesis! I officially have my MSc!

Hmm, I don’t know why this is smoky and there’s not really a reason for it to be, yet it is (to me, at least). Sadly, this must be swapped out.

Tried steeping at 200°F at both 3 and 4 minutes with the same result.

drank Copenhagen Grey by Tante-T

Enjoying Copenhagen Grey in Copenhagen!

I waited for a year to finally be able to stock up on Tante-T since they sadly don’t ship to Canada. And stock up I did!

This tea is delightful (also in part due to the amazing water here — all tea just tastes better here). There is a massive hit of citrus in this one, a very clean bergamot citrus. Yet, this tea is somehow also very creamy, without using vanilla. Incredible. And the creaminess with the intense citrus is quite a work of art.

drank Orange by Tante-T

One day until thesis submission and 8 days until we leave for vacation!

I decided to cold brew this tea before just composting it altogether due to a smoky essence when brewed hot. I am so happy I tried the cold brew! The tea is incredible! The scent dry is intoxicatingly juicy, like fresh orange juice and the cold brewed really captures that, with an added sweetness one would get in fresh-squeezed orange juice. It’s almost like it has sugar, but it doesn’t — just lovely chunks of orange peel. Needless to say, I’ll be happily enjoy the remainder of this cold brewed!

Bio

I love black tea and this is usually what’s in my mug. I’m also happy to enjoy a cup of green or red rooibos (green preferable to red), herbals, oolongs (unroasted/green and red preferable to roasted), whites, and subtly flavoured greens (mango or pineapple, yum!).

Likes:
Raspberry, strawberry, peach, rhubarb, passionfruit, blackcurrant, redcurrant, fig, and most fruits in general, maple, creaminess, hay, biscuit, lavender, and cacao/dark chocolate.

I enjoy bergamot when paired with flavours that mellow it (Camellia Sinensis Earl Grey Cream is one of my favourites).

Dislikes:
Any smokiness at all, stevia, too much blackberry leaf, rose, jasmine, ginger (except in chai), cinnamon-heavy teas, anything cloying or fake/candy-like.

I’m vegan with an allergy to potatoes, so I avoid any animal products in tea, along with sprinkles as these often have potato starch (I usually just pick them out of blends).
