1199 Tasting Notes
I cold brewed this one through the night to give it a try chilled. I always open the bag thinking I’ll want this, but the scent doesn’t sit well.
I would say the cold brew tastes very similar to the hot (from what I recall). The creamy, yet earthy coffee flavour is at the forefront, with hints of cinnamon and a subtle sweetness at the end of the sip.
I’m hoping as the autumn comes, I’ll crave this one a bit more often.
Preparation
I steeped this one up hot this afternoon and it’s akin to liquified raspberries. Very tasty, but I’m struggling to find any passionfruit. I’ve had this cold before, but naturally didn’t make any notes. I’ll have to cold steep this one soon as I vaguely remember getting more passionfruit that way.
Preparation
I enjoyed this as my first cup of the day, steeped for 3 minutes with a splash of soy milk. I haven’t been able to drink my normal morning ice coffee since getting sick because it tastes horrid, but ventured today to try milk in my tea.
This is a string malty breakfast tea that takes milk well. I’ll be sure to leave another note for how it is without milk as well.
I ordered this one as a potential replacement for A.C. Perch Kenya, but Kenya has a ‘cleaner’ taste overall and does slightly edge this one out.

Sad sipdown of this favourite. I had only enough for a small mug and I couldn’t let it sit in my cupboard any longer. I am enjoying this one as I try to catch up on emails after a week of being ill.
Preparation
Aww, well I’m sure there are plenty for you to enjoy otherwise! I feel like that for Lupicia’s Cookie.

I ordered 25g of this for myself in March and ripped through it far too quickly. This tea is really great, really great. It’s silky and full of flavour. Almost like a cross between TTC Yuchi Wild Mountain and Teavivre’s Bailin. I really love it and must have more soon!
I resteep this once as well and it retains a significant amount of flavour.

Well, I’ve polished off this sample and still this is all Fruit Loops!
The bergamot is really lovely here, against a smooth black base with no astringency (my favourite), but the EG Cream just edges it out. I may order another sample and try mixing the two though!
Preparation
Hot: This has a jammy strawberry taste with almost no hibiscus tartness when hot. It’s quite lovely and I always end up finishing my cup without even realising it.
Chilled: This one has a scent almost like those strawberry Campino candies (does anyone remember those?) — like a creamy, strawberry. The taste is much more hibiscus mixed with strawberry. The hibiscus is definitely toned down and I really get any tartness. The overall flavour is quite nice.
Preparation
I had to go look up Campino—they aren’t what I thought they were (which was the hard candy filled with a liquid center my grandpa kept all the time).
I know ones like that too! There were delicious strawberry ones in a red and green wrapper (these may be different from the ones your grandpa kept): https://www.google.com/search?q=hard+strawberry+candy+with+soft+center&tbm=isch&source=lnms&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwiwpcvV1tf3AhUaATQIHarHARUQ_AUI-QcoAQ&biw=1440&bih=692&dpr=2#imgrc=fxsiE_tsFRCydM
I have had the same ones as gmathis, but never heard of Campino. I will check World Market for them!
I don’t know why it never occurred to me to order the regular EG from CS, since I adore the Earl Grey Cream. So I added this sample to my recent order.
The bergamot is really lovely here, against a smooth black base with no astringency (my favourite). I don’t know how to describe the flavour except to say that is is like the essence of Fruit Loops!
