I am getting the buttery gourmand notes, especially in the smell. The first few infusions are light and a touch sweet. Not floral, but smooth and consistent body. The liquor is a bright orange.
This is a pretty good tea so far. I left one of the steeps too long and it did not come out bitter or astringent, just smooth and strong. The flavor profile is not as pleasurable to me as something like a TGY but I still really appreciate what this one brings to the table, it’s not too expensive either! Well balanced.

I noticed you said your rating system is in honor of K.S. Do you mean our Steepsterite who passed away in April about five years ago?
Yes I do. When I first got into Steepster I was reading a lot of his reviews on popular bagged teas. Then, I found his blog and got through some of that too. When it was time to adopt a rating system, I thought using something similar was the best way to honor his memory.
He was a wonderful person. I still have a letter or two that he sent me, and occasionally his wife and I correspond. Nice, nice folks.

Shame I didn’t get to have tea with him; most everyone I have met (online) through Steepster has been salt of the earth. Time spent conversing or buying/selling teas here is treasured. I wish her health and happiness despite everything that happened.
