13 Tasting Notes
So I got this in the mystery box from the giveaway! :D
I was actually REALLY excited to try this because I’ve always been interested in blooming teas, and just my luck, I got some!
So I put it into my steeper (though I don’t know if I’m supposed to, but I did) and boiled my water.
At first I didn’t want to damage the delicate flower, so I poured the water around it instead of on top. I later on realized the water needed to be poured ON to the flower, so I did.
The flower was the delicate flower that bloomed within five minutes, because it was so beautiful, I expected it to taste just as good as it looks, I ended up a bit disappointed.
The tea itself was just any regular plain fruity-jasminey tea, nothing really special, but nonetheless I really enjoyed it.
Preparation
So I got this sent to me from Jason from the Surplus Giveaway, this happens to be the first tea I tried from the box! Huge thanks and kudos to him! :D
So I’m a huge fan of the White Peony from DAVID’sTEA, and because of that, I was intrigued into trying this tea because of my love for the one at David’s. They both in comparison have a different level of crispiness, I feel as if the one from DAVID’sTEA is a lot more crisp but I’m not quite sure, the taste in this one may not be right because of the way I steeped it, the bag came with no instructions so I just used my gut instinct. Nonetheless this tea has such a nice refreshing taste to it, a good break from all of the dessert teas I drink, and my constant abusing of my tin of Ginseng Oolong. I will most likely try this tea iced the next time, but I have a physics lab report to start and finish tonight, but other than that, this tea has made my day, and satisfied a craving I didn’t realize I had until after my first sip.
Preparation
I’m actually sipping on this tea at this very moment, I got this tea as a to-go cup because I wasn’t quite sure if I should buy this in bulk.
It’s not that bad really, but not something I would buy in probably fifty-a hundred grams.
It’s banana-y that’s for sure, and you can taste the fruitiness and coconut in it. I’m drinking this iced with a bit of agave and it’s nice and sweet, doesn’t taste watered down. The more I drink this, the more fonder I become with it’s flavour. It’s yummy, but not a must-have for me. Maybe when I’m feeling it, I might pick this up in twenty-five to fifty grams.
I’m just really stuck and cooped up in my room watching video lessons and doing intense functions and physics work for the unit tests tomorrow, not to mention having to do my biology presentation over again because my laptop crashed and hence, why I have to do my powerpoint over again.
Luckily, this tea is once again accompanying me to handle my jobs well. This tea is basically my go to tea! It’s got a nice flavour to it, and the sweetness just kind of lingers throughout the process of drinking it. I love it both hot and iced, and I’ll be sure to go buy this in a full tin – sad the one nearby only offers Ginseng Oolong in the little packets.
Update: So now my nearby David’s Tea offers Ginseng Oolong in bulk! The moment I saw it on the counter while sniffing other teas, I just HAD TO HAVE IT, and so I did, a full tin of it. This has got to be my most favourite teas of all teas at the moment. I went through half the tin within approx. two weeks? It’s amazing to drink for any given time on my schedule. In the mornings when I need something to keep me up, a refreshing drink, when I’m sick or feeling like horrid, and even all nighters. It tastes good hot, and still good when it cools down. This tea is perfect.
Preparation
I remember this being one of my most favourite teas. Now the more I drink it, like I am now, the more the flavour just really to be put bluntly – sucks. I still have a full tin of this and I really hope my next cup won’t disappoint me as much as it is right now.
I’ve never been so disappointed about a tea before… I really don’t know what happened. Each cup I make, just becomes worse and worse. I still have a full tin of it too.
Preparation
In attempt to rush out the door this morning, I pulled this out of my box of teas and rushed downstairs and brewed it up and out the door I went! You can definitely taste the green out of the green tea and the pomegranates just gave a huge kick to the flavour. It was a pretty interesting taste and I later tried it again cold. It’s nice, but not something I would call my favourite.
Preparation
Bought this tea along with the Cold Survival Kit. My family and I drank this up during our very sick days, and it just makes me feel a little bit more relaxed and better than I was before. Tastes like many other regular mint teas. I probably won’t be repurchasing this tea only because I don’t find it that much of a unique tea to always have on hand.
Preparation
I really have to say that this tea is one of my all time favourites. You can drink it straight, or add milk and sugar – it really tastes amazing either way. This tea was one of my first purchased teas and definitely my fall/winter staple. The scent is just heavenly, to the point where my cousin smelt it and went on the internet to search up a perfume that smelt like it! It’s well worth it and I know for a fact that when fall is nearby, or they foolishly decide to discontinue this tea, I’ll be sure to buy a full tin or two of it.
Preparation
I purchased this tea in the smaller $1 sample bags and I kind of fell in love with this tea. I can definitely see myself drinking this majority of the time when I feel like drinking a straight tea in the spring. The taste is light and crisp and gives a sense of refreshment. I’m planning on maybe purchasing it in maybe twenty-five to fifty grams the next time to get more of the feel of it.
Preparation
This tea was a nice starters chocolate tea to me. It wasn’t too sweet nor was it too much on the minty side. The candy lips gave it such a cute touch and the scent filled my room at one point. Though the flavour can taste watered down sometimes, it’s still an amazing tea. I can’t really put my finger on it, but I’m guessing the fact that it’s minty, makes me categorize it into the more wintery kind of teas rather than any other season.
