1758 Tasting Notes
This is a fairly nice tasting tea for the price. It is by no means spectacular. The main note seems to be malt, but subdued. If I had paid a lot for this I would have been disappointed. For $4.99 it’s not bad.
I steeped this one time in a 16oz Teavana Glass Perfect Tea Maker/Gravity Steeper with 3 tsp leaf and 200 degree water for 3 min. I you decide to order from Twinnings or see it in your local market it is at least worth a try.
Preparation
Bought this because a couple other Twinnings teas I bought were fairly good. This one I am unsure about. I ruined my taste buds with lunch right before this and I think I am still tasting the cashew butter and jelly sandwich I made. So I will have to reevaluate this at a later time.
I brewed 3 tsp leaf in 200 degree water in a 16ozTeavana Glass Perfect Tea Maker/Gravity Steeper for 3 minutes.
Preparation
I haven’t had this in the loose leaf version, but I enjoyed the bags…a little light, but decent flavor. Keep us posted on what you think about it next time!
This is a very sweet caffeine free herbal. So sweet I almost regret adding sugar. Can’t really discern one berry from the other in this they all meld together. It is very nice for an herbal and would probably be good iced.
I steeped two teabags in a 16oz cup with boiling water for 5 minutes.
Flavors: Fruity
Preparation
While not overly complex this is a fairly tasty decaf tea. It is somewhat malty and very smooth. It was only available from Twinnings as a tea bag, not as loose. And it is nice for a time of day where I cannot have caffeine. If Twinnings hadn’t been running a special for free shipping I wouldn’t have bothered with the order.
Brewed two teabags in a 16oz mug with 200 degree water for 3 minutes.

Picked this one up when I happened to see it in the store. It didn’t look like there was too much tea in each teabag so I uses three tea bags for one 16oz cup. It has a nice strong chocolate taste and the rooibos is there too. Not sure if I’m getting the vanilla and the beet root. Over all this is a nice cup of caffeine free tea. And it was not expensive. It’s not the best I’ve had as far as rooibos goes but it’s also not the worst.

Preparation
Found this tea at a local store. It is strong with a malty and a fruity note. It is strong enough to stand up to my adding honey and it still tastes like tea, not like honey. This is definitely one of the strongest teas I have had.
I brewed this once in a 16oz Teavana Glass Perfect Tea Maker/Gravity Steeper with 3 tsp leaf and 200 degree water for 3 minutes.
Preparation
It’s a good, goof-proof, out-the-door-in-a-hurry bag. (IMO, their Irish Breakfast is a step stronger if you need something stiffer :)
Sampled this in store and liked it, so I bought one of their pre filled tins. I find that the brew is slightly cloudy. It wasn’t cloudy in store. It is fairly tasty with a number of different notes present. There is pumpkin, nutmeg, and clove definitely. There is also a note of spices and I think caramel too. This tea has a lot of complex flavors. The main problem I have with this tea is it was overpriced at $40 for 6 oz.
I brewed this one time in a 16oz Teavana Glass Perfect Tea Maker/Gravity Steeper with 3 tsp leaf and 190 degree water for 3 min.
Preparation
Drinking this iced today and it is really good. Definitely get the notes of malt and chocolate. Not sure if I’m tasting the cherry that was in this hot. Although there is a fruity note in there. Still this is really good.
Brewed this overnight in the fridge in a 32oz Lupica Handy Cooler with 4 tsp leaf.
Preparation
Bought some of this today having totally forgot that I had bought it before. Ah well. There seems to be a note of apples, that must be the chamomile. A lemon taste from the lemongrass is also present. This is reasonably good tea but I don’t really know that it will help me sleep. It has elements that are considered relaxing, mainly chamomile, but it doesn’t have anything sedating like Valerian. Of course if this contained Valerian Root it would taste pretty vile.

Flavors: Apple, Lemongrass

Got this as a free sample with my purchase from Clipper Ship Tea Company the other day. It’s a very nice tasting flavored oolong. Their is more of a melange of fruit flavors rather than one dominant. This is one I would consider buying. I think it would make a good iced tea.
I used the entire sample in about 12oz of 190 degree water and steeped it for 3 minutes.
Along with their English Breakfast, Prince of Wales is my favorite loose leaf tea from Twinings. I totally agree with you – For $4.99 it’s not bad at all!
